Guest guest
MAY I ask what a french drain is?, it sounds neat. I don't know how u dared to do all that work in a day. I found out last summer, by taking precaution, which I never did before, just worked till tasks were done, that a small, slow, rake job with a break in between layed me up for a week, boy were my arms, neck and legs sore. I was just thinking this a.m. if anyone else suffers with numbness, as this is new to me in last couple mo.s, I experience it almost nightly, if I lay on my side and get my arms involved at all they go comletely numb. Also I to think sometimes I will take a diazapam at night to get ahead of possible repercussion from a task I may have done that day, and will rest, relaxed and have no pain. Has not worked yet! I don't sleep, and I agree with all my Dr. group, if we could find something to get me to sleep, not even a whole night, but maybe 5-6hrs uninterupted I would have a chance of getting out of this now close to a year flare-up. I have tried everything out there, meds, and natural. Anything anyone may no of? tried the melatonin. Some say because I have thyroid disease it keeps me going in high gear all the time, but I don't hear my sleep c/o from others who have the same, all though I sometimes think my dosage of synthroid is off, but Dr. will not give me needed referral to see endo. Dr. they say my TSH is fine. Well hope others are finding good results Sharon Zimmy wrote: Whole bunches of people are reporting flares... I've had a couple of very busy days. I'm putting in a French drain on the side of my house where it's really soggy, and making a stepping-stone path. Understand, my " excavation " is being done pretty much a tablespoon at a time. ;D ;D It's pretty pathetic - a normal person could have done this task on a Saturday afternoon after a full week of work. But I persevered and now the drain is done. I still have a lot of work to do - I have to shave off some more earth and make sure the pathway is the right width, then put down the sand and stuff and the stone. I've been pushing - worked several hours yesterday, as opposed to my usual 2 hours on good days. But it's not done yet. And it's going to rain today, which will cause the dirt that I carefully raked around yesterday to wash back down onto the pathway and become MUD. :::: sigh :::: I'm also very tired, my arms have gone numb, and I'm in a flare which I've been trying to deny since yesterday afternoon. I took 1/2 valium before bed, but woke up at 4 am (it only works for 4 hours) and I think, especially with the rain and thunderstorms moving in today, that I need to take a day off and rest if I don't want to land in bed. It'll be interesting to see if the drain works: if the rain water actually drains into the drain instead of just sitting there. If it doesn't, I'm going to be *very* upset. Tomorrow is supposed to be sunny and cooler. I guess I'll just shovel the mud out tomorrow. ;D Oh well, back to bed for me. The work will be there tomorrow. Today, I shall wallow in Jane Austen. ;D Z (what, I think I've suddenly become a civil engineer??!? ;D ;D)
