Guest guest
I wouldn't worry too much about it effecting your sleep, that doesn't seem to be the norm. I also have restless legs and have always had alot of pain in my legs when I try to sleep. I'm not sure if it's the fibro or the restless legs. I use to take amitriptiline to help with sleep and it worked, but it made me so out of it all day. When my reg dr put me on cymbalta, he made me quit amitriptiline, lyrica (which i only took a few days) and paxil. I haven't been on it long enough to know if it is going to work for me. (up to 4 weeks) I see my rh feb. 5, see what he says if I'm not sleeping or improving. My rh put me on the lyrica and wanted my reg. dr to re-evaluate my depression. I told him that I wasn't given paxil for depression but rather panic disorder. But still sent me to my dr. I sometimes wonder if maybe he thought my pain was from depression???? hm So far the cymbalta has done nothing for my pain. Keeping my fingers crossed. What a vicious cycle of the pain, the drugs, the sleepless nights, or if you sleep with the help of drugs, feeling so drugged up the next day. On a good note, I've already lost a few pounds and my appetite is way down!!! Gained alot being on prednisone and paxil. I'd give cymbalta a try. And I'll update when I've been on it for 4 weeks. I sleep really well on the Lyrica. No sleep would do me in! Gee I wonder if I should just be rested and fat! I started it last week at 30mg and just upped it last nite to 60mg. I think it might work out for me, but I have a huge problem of not being able to sleep. I've had very little sleep in a week. I'm a Zombie! Did you have any side effects like this when you started? My dr don't want to give me anything yet for sleep, he wants the med to take full effect. My understanding is that could be 1 - 4 weeks. I have a call into my dr now to see if I could take it in the morning instead of evening.
