Guest guest
<< Does anyone else have ideopathic pancreatitis? >> Me. I had my first attack when I was 16, a few months after a car accident where my shoulder belt broke and I was held in place by my lap belt. At that time, I had really severe abdominal bruising, so they thought that might have caused it, but there was never any damage found on my pancreas from the accident. I had one doc tell me I had recurrent acute pancreatitis, another said chronic, and the one I have now has both acute and chronic written on the bottom of all the paperwork I get at appointments! Good luck - sometimes I think the not knowing why is almost as bad as anything else involved in this illness. ~Shanon
Guest guest
Me too. I was diagnosed in March of 2000 with enzyme levels over 9000. No reason whatsoever as I do not drink alcohol and had no history of gallbladder problems. Had it again in August and October and am still on tpn as a result of that last bout. It never seems to end, does it? Be well,

Guest guest
Kim, I don't think I have talked with you before. My daughter Jackie has Idiopathic CP. I was worried when you said you had chicken pox. I wondered if it would make you have an attack cuz one of Jackie's attack they said could be cuz of a viral infection that I really do not know if she had one or not. I just think the pancreas is a picky little organ (gland or whatever it is LOL) I hope you are doing better. talk to ya soon --- littlebitz2000@... wrote: > Well I just was released from the hospital this > morning. Guest guest
Kim, Hello Friend!! I've been so worried about you. Are you OK? Is the chicken pox clearing up any yet? I wish I would have known you were in the " slammer " again. When you are able, please let me know how you are and how things are at home. Thanks, I've been thinking about you. Love, ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ > Well I just was released from the hospital this morning. Guest guest
Hi Rose, Sounds like you want to be an intuitive eater all right, lol. As do we all! I think there are programs out there that try to approach compulsive eating in a restrictive way--to tame or control it, I guess you could say. IE is a path to free yourself from it. Not a short or easy path, but you could call it a journey of discovery. : ) Glad to see you here. Sohni artista787 wrote: I'm new to this group. I joined yesterday after seeing Intuitive Eating mentioned in an article and then found the website and joined the group. I don't know much about Intuitive Eating but I am drawn to the idea because I very much want to be a "normal" eater. I want to be able to eat when I am hungry and stop when I am full, to have peace with food, peace when I eat it and peace when I leave it alone. I have been in many different eating and weight management programs over the years. The last program I was in, although there were no explicit rules about it, the general thinking was that there was no hope for an over-eater of ever being a "normal eater". And that a food plan and some some nonnegotiable rules about food were a necessity for lasting success. I'm here because I'm hoping that that isn't true and that I can become a normal eater. I've been thin and I have been fat. Right now I am about 14 pounds overweight. I would like to lose those 14 pounds, but even more than that, I would like to have a healthy self-esteem just as I am, and to enjoy my life to the fullest even with 14 extra pounds.
