Guest guest
I have been holding off reporting the results of my photoderm treatments hoping that I would have something more positive to write in the future. After four treatments with a Bitter trained physician, I am somewhat disappointed with the results and have come to the regretable conclusion that this treatment or Bitter's protocol simply does not work well for me. I say this with a good deal of hesitancy, because I know that many people have received wonderful results with the photoderm under Bitter's protocol. Based on my experience, however, I cannot enthusiatically recommend the treatment. After every treatment, except the first, it has caused serious flares with minimal improvement. Indeed, in some ways I believe it may have worsened the condition, because the rosacea has spread to other parts of my face which were previously not a problem. Often I have wondered in the last weeks is the cure worse than the disease. Although it should be obvious that I am a bit frustrated and discouraged, I am not trying to " bash " photoderm, because others have had tremendous results with this treatment and I saw some good results after my first treatment (which was very conservative). I just want to supply information to those people who are considering this treatment. It may not be the magical cure I was hoping it would be. Are there any other protocols for photoderm other than Bitter's? My doctor (and I beleive Dr. Nase) said that you have to be very agressive. But I recall someone from Australia (I beleive) was being treated by a doctor who used conservative photoderm settings. I am particularly interested in any information on the latter protocol, because I did, in fact, see very good results after my first phtoderm treatment which used low settings. Guest guest
Hi . That's SUCH a bumber that the Photoderm treatments didn't work for you. I'm going for my first one in a week. My doctor, Dr. Moy at UCLA was trained by Dr. Bitter Jr. Was your Doctor trained by Bitter Sr. or Bitter Jr? Not that it matters. My guess is that we all respond differently to it. Will they give you partial refund of your money at least?? Did you ask your doctor why he thinks it didn't work for you but it works so well for others? And one final question, does it hurt? -julie
