I have the same problem. Others would love to have this concern. I am in

the process of eating more carbs and eating protein shakes in between meals

(3-4 of them/day). Stress was the main reason I lost 15lbs and I have since

put 5 back on and have 10 to go. I went down to a hundred and should be

115-118lbs. (Im 105 now). A well balnced diet with the addition of

superfoods like spirulina put into " shakes " are great. Spriulina is the

highest form of protein on earth. And the most nutritious. Its very hi in

B12 and iron that is assimilated easily by the body.

Cleansing doesnt neccessarily equate with losing weight. People can gain

weight from cleasnsing. When your system is clean and funtioning at

optimium levels then the foods we eat will be better absorbed and

assimilated. Proteins will be utilized to build healthy cells and mucsle if

enzymes are present in sufficient quantities than the nutrients will be

extracted and utilized properly by our body systems. If you smoke than your

metabolism will be inhibited.

There does exist a metabolic cleanse by a company called Metagenics - its

called UltraClear. I have not done this myself but intend to in the new

year. I have tried to look for it in the US health stores and have not

found it. I am familiar with it from Canada but there is a website under

Metagenics and it can be purchesed online. It is a very good cleanse for

the metabolic processes of the body. I know others that have done this

cleanse and some amazing things had happened to some of them - thats how I

became interested in the product and intend to get it when I go home for the

holidays (toronto). Things like passing grapefruit sized cysts!!!!!!!!

WOW, that really peaked my curiosity and I cant wait to try it myself as I

have cysts in my abdominal region. cea was the least of my concerns

when I got into alt health and healing.

So to answer your question yes you can cleanse and you can put weight on in

a healthy fashion. If you can afford it I would advise consulting a

nutritonist (not dietician there is a difference) for a proper meal plan

based on your personal requirements.

Raw almonds, walnuts and raw seeds, avocados are good to put weight on as

well. Whole grain pastas (kamut, spelt, rice) are also healthy choices.

Avoid the duram semolina types as they are not very good on the elimination

process (gluey to the colon). Basmati, brown rice dishes are great and

healthier than bleached white rice. Avoid refined sugars, carbonated

bevrages and junk foods - empty calories and detrimental to health. Soy

milk shakes with Flax oil, lecithin, spirulina or some protein powder are

good and tasty. Add a Banana or frozed organic fruit, etc. These can be

eaten for breakfast and in between meals for added calories. Avoid the meal

replacement drinks as they are added with garbage that will only add to a

sluggish liver. Munch away and build muscle as it weighs more than fat and

you'll look great and toned by the summer.

Hi Margaret,

Milia (plural for milium) occur when dead, normally sloughed skin is trapped in

small, superficial cystic structures in the skin or mucous membrane. Milium is

the Latin for " seed. " A milium is a pinhead-sized 1 mm white cyst containing a

small core of keratin. They occur mainly around the eyes, but can also occur on

the cheeks, forehead, or chin. Milium look like white heads but do not respond

to

squeezing because they have no pore. They are harmless and can be left alone

but

can be removed by a dermatologist if desired for cosmetic reasons.

A dermatologist told me that milia occur for one the following reasons: 1)

heredity, 2) use of cosmetics or creams which have clogged the pores, 3) sun

damage to the skin. I have developed milia in the past four years. Although

dermatologists tell me the two conditions are unrelated, the milia came at the

same time as the rosacea. Perhaps the rosacea provides an environment conducive

to milia? Most disturbing to me is that some of the milia become calcified

almost

immediately upon appearing. This means they are very difficult to extract

without

scarring.

I found that the topical antibiotic Klaron works very well against the

milia though it hasn't done much for my rosacea.

Hi a-

Thanks for the answer. I'm wondering about these little white things on my

nose, sides of my nose and chin. They are very small white things that

protude, I guess that's the best way of describing it, from my skin. I can

scratch them off, though I wouldn't. They seem to be very uniform in the

areas they are and do appear to be coming from my pores. They are

bothersome because if I want to wear makeup to hide the red it clumps on

these spots. Does this sound like what you have? They look a little

different than a white head.

Thanks.

I have exactly what you're describing. I think they're either millia or

badlly clogged pores from excess sebum around the nose. That would be my

guess. I figure Accutane or a retinoid is the only way to permenantly get

rid of these, as they've been around for about 6 months now to no avail.
