Guest guest Posted March 31, 2006 Report Share Posted March 31, 2006 Hi I am new to the group. i was just recently diagnoised with PSC. My doc has put me on urosol 500 MG. Is this a high dose? What can I expect as a result of taking this drug? Side effects?, Positive results? Any info would be appreciated. I had an ercp today and it revealed strictures in the small ducts in my liver. Guest guest Posted April 1, 2006 Report Share Posted April 1, 2006 Dear Clint,Bill doesn't have any side effects but I will tell you that we did not start out at the high dose.It took about a year to get there. His physician first started him on 1,000mg or about 15 mg/kg/bw which at this time she considered high dose.When we found through this group that it was higher he went up to 1,500mg and then when I showed his Dr. the papers supporting the 25-30mg/kg/bw he went up to the 2,000mg. I mention this because maybe this gradual increase prevented any side effects? I had UC since 13 and am 45, several years post surgery for UC and have the PSC bug for a couple years now. Write often this group is great!
