Hi Karla,

Yes stress from an alcholic can and will contribute to fibro. You are always

ready for a showdown when they beginning drinking not knowing what might happen

and what will set him off. I suggest you can help and some support from alnon or

some real close freinds or family member that you can lean on for help and

understanding. It is very hard to live that way . I did for 24 years with my

first husband who was an alcholoic plus he was in the military at the same time.

I understand how you feel and that you still love and care for him.Love is hard

to turn off sometimes. I wish you the best at home and with your health also.

Dear Karla:

I hear what you are saying...no fun living with someone who is

alcoholic and my guess is that it IS contributing to your stress level

and so the fibro also.

You could try going to an alanon group to help you see how all of this

is affecting you. There is a lot of strength in being with others who

know what you are living with; just like with this group.

Hope this helps,

Vicki

Alanon was a wonderful help for me. I learned so much and received so much real

support and it was a great place to get hugs. I highly recommend it.

The stress of not knowing how the alcoholic will react at any given moment

keeps you tense and increases greatly any pain you are having; plus it messes

with you mind anyway.

Good luck,

Marti
