Guest guest
I have had a bad experience with Zinc Oxide, it actually made my redness worse. So as the rosacea story goes, everyone reacts differently. I religiously use Zia gel cleanser and Sy's optimal light sunscreen. My biggest problem is seb/derm,and I use Nizoral to tone down any blotchyness that starts creeping up on me. Have had 2 photoderm treatments to help eliminate the fine blood vessels and it has helped reduce my flushing. Claratin or aspirin also help me keep a flush down, if I know I am going into a flushing environment, I will take either one ahead of time. Guest guest
Hi Mike-- It could have been the vehicle that you were reacting to. A lot of zinc oxide creams are in mineral oil or petroleum bases and those products cause redness in a lot of rosaceans. Just a thought... Take care! --- Mike Leeseberg wrote: > I have had a bad experience with Zinc Oxide, it > actually made my > redness worse. So as the rosacea story goes, > everyone reacts > differently. Guest guest
Hi steve. You might want to try Desitin (the diaper rash ointment). It is 40% Zinc Oxide. However, it also contains petrolatum, Cod liver oil, and talc, so it might cause breakouts. You could apply it to a test area for a few days to see what happens. Also, its kind of chalky, so it'll give a vampiric-ghoulish pallor which actually goes over quite well here in New York. -- jonathan " steve pettman " wrote: original article:/group/rosacea-support/?start=11 389 > Hi all, > > Just a quick question to any fellow Aussies. Has anyone tried to purchase Zinc Oxide Creme? Cant seem to find just zinc oxide creme anywhere. I have seen all the great comments about this product from all our friends in the US.
