Guest guest
here is the account of dennis which was posted here earlier this year: From: charlene dryer <charlene@l...> Date: Mon May 8, 2000 12:48pm Subject: Dennis is dead On April 26, 2000, " my " alcoholic, Dennis, a victim of many years forced AA attendance and abusive 12 step programs, lost his battle with alcoholism 400 miles from me in the Arizona desert where (under the heavy influence of alcohol and prescription drugs) he took his own life by hanging. He was under the care of a psychiatrist and we had had a significant argument over what his alcoholism had put me through over the last year. By phone he called me on April 25, 2000, and asked to come home. He said he had come to the conclusion he would not live long without me. He seemed sober, said he would sell a few items for gas money, stay sober and drive home. That was the last time I heard from him. The following day, from all accounts he was very despondent over his inability to stay sober long enough to drive home. Stating that he wished to commit suicide to more than 5 other people who were present, these people proceeded to take this opportunity to convert him to Christ. Within 5 minutes after this, he went to the woodshed and hung himself. On Monday, May 1, after not hearing from him for 6 days, I was frantic. I drove to the desert to look for him where I discovered his tragic death. He was 39 years old. I have just come from Arizona where I picked up his belongings and had him cremated. His misery is over forever. I loved him as no other and am sorry I could not help him find the solution he needed here. If I could have gotten him to 12sf or some other group in time his life might have been saved.
