ok, so they finally diagnosed me....

so now what? i'm on ultram, flexeril and now lyrica as well as

methotrexate...now what do i do? do i apply for ssi/ssi-d? i just got

over a really bad episode last wekk, swear to god, i was begging for

death, my musclesw felt like they were being stripped off my bones...i

have no idea what to do now...i'm releived to find out i have a label

now, but i'm scared,well, poopless....someone give me a direction,

advice, whatever....

When I found out I had FM I had started out with a lot of different meds. That

was about 5 yrs ago. My dr. is great because she knows how much pain I am in

and she works for with me. I really think its a trial and error process. I

started with a lot of meds, because was so glad that there was medication for

someone like me and two because I really needed to get some pain meds and

sleep. My advice is to take it slow and know that you will want to try meds at

a high dose but start out low and you can always increase it. I am on soma and

vicodin and nortriptyline for my legs. When I first took nortriptyline I sleep

for what seemed to be about two weeks. But at the time I was diagnosed I just

needed something but I still take this meds. I also had demerol shots which was

a great help, but even at times it just took the edge off. You will be the one

to tell the dr. what works for you. Although I have not introduced myself to

the group I had joined about 3 weeks ago

and have enjoyed reading the site. It is very comforting to know that their

are so many of us and we can share valuable information. I wish you well as

you work thru this terrible monster. I hope this site is helpful just knowing

you are not alone.
