Guest guest
Well, that made me happy for the day. Sigh. Remember a few days ago I was wondering about Dalton? Thing says score of 159...Severe PDD. Yea, well, I thought. It's just the shock of it all. LOL! I do hold out hope that one day I am going to be wrong :0) Georga Check out Childbrain.com - PDD assessment scale/screening questionnaire Click here: Childbrain.com - PDD assessment scale/screening questionnaire -BJ
Guest guest
That is the website of my sons previous and greedy neurologist. He took those questions from an IBR assessment. Guest guest
--Most of these assessments are not fine tuned, theyre broad, open for interpretation. The one from IBR had a lot more and specific questions, some with examples. He made it simpler, less questions. For example, under social skills, the IBR one lists different facets of this-empathy, eye contact, social approach, being helpful, etc. He just states does the child interact with peers, however, my child, doesnt initiate interaction as in play, but, he is helpful towards his peers, noted by his teachers and myself. So, according to Grossman, if a child doesnt initiate play, then it doesnt matter. Whether they run over to assist a child that he can see is helpless. I have seen eric help my younger son with his jacket and even handwriting homework. My experience with this guy is that he is a real dictator, ive meet people on and offline that would agree. He needs to learn to listen. In relation to the thread about the oedipus thing, My has (and still has) an Oedipal thing. He would order my husband to leave the room, and want me to stay with him, he is more affectionate with me than him. I told Grossman about this and he basically poo-pooed it, saying that he is more concerned that bossing around a parent is an autistic behavior (which its not) than the fact that an oedipal stage is one in which NT children go through and not typical of an autistic one. was also about 3 or 4 at the time, and in terms of development, he was on target. my 2 cents. Guest guest
Well, it is just a screening tool, and even when you use a bunch of them all together you still have to look at the whole picture before you end up with a diagnosis. Gabe failed the CHAT and a few others but he is only 'at risk' - and I happen to agree. But it does indicate you should look into a developmental evaluation for him. :/ There are other online tests like this by the way...the CARS and the ATEC come to mind. I don't have those links but I'm sure someone else will if you ask. There's a short and simple one I like because it gives you a nice list of concerns to take to your dr to get the referral. http://coping.org/earlyin/pdq.htm This one is geared for up to age 5...I don't remember how old he is, sorry. coping.org is a nice site by itself as well. Lots of information and suggestions. -Sara. > Click here: > Childbrain.com - PDD assessment scale/screening questionnaire
