I'm tossing in my 2 cents on prednisone. You can look at pix of me

last Christmas and tell that yes, I needed to lose weight, BUT there

was a lot of puffiness to my whole self! I haven't had to use it

since October and the puffiness DOES go away.

Part of the problem with prednisone is it CAN increase your appetite.

I was fortunate (hah!) in that the meds they gave me for the

infection part made me nauseated, so it kind of negated the " true "

weight gain, I just puffed up like a blowfish.

I would say take the stuff if your doc has prescribed it, find out

about the height loss like Marti suggested (my mom has lost an inch

too and is now taking something to help prevent further bone loss)

and know that we are here!
