Guest guest
Well I got up at 4:30 this morning got myself and Eva ready to go. We left at 5 to go get my mom so I wouldnt be alone. Then we went to the hospital, we were taken in at 7am to get her ready. Then they took us down the the surgery waiting area so the doctors could talk to us before they took her in to surgery. When the doctor came over I told him (since he was the ENT) that I was also worried about her ears and how she didnt seem to be hearing as well and he said he did want to look in her ears because there was some fluid in her ears a month ago. They took about a half hour and the doctor came out to talk to me and let me know how she was doing and what they saw. He said her air was was small and thats why she has problems breathing at night because she was so relaxed that it doesnt open enough. He is going to be talking to her pulmanary doctor and her cardiologist and see what they wanted to do next and I will find out when I go back for her fallow up. As for the ears they had ALOT of fluid in the so she now has tubes in her ears. Poor baby went in for her airway and got tubes in her ears...lol. I have to put drops in her ears 2 times a day til Saturday. When we took her upstairs to recovery she was somewhat awake but did wake up shortly after and took 4 oz of pedialyte by mouth which she hasnt taken that much by mouth in weeks. We were able to leave at 11am and we were so hungry we went out to lunch (me, my mom, my friend Deanna, and her boyfriend ). I also want to thank them for being there with me!! After lunch us girls went shopping and then back to my moms where Eva took 5 oz of formula by mouth, I was so proud of her!! After I let her tummy settle her and I came home and now I am very tired!! LOL! Tomorrow I have 2 more doctors appointments and then I have the weekend off. Thank god!! Crystal and Eva (9 month charger)
Guest guest
the tubes can make a huge difference in her hearing and in her comfort levels. When Di's tube was plugged or out, I had to speak so loudly for her to hear me- We'd go thru this routine of her saying What? what? what? then: Why are you yelling at me?? DUH. (about 50 times a day) Frustrating for everyone-Plus her Dad can't hear, and I think her brother chooses not to hear- I lived in a symphony of WHAT?s on and off for years. I know you're running like crazy-sometimes it seems you've never really left the hospital. But every effort you make now, will have huge life long payoffs. Now is the time, for better times later. Keep the faith, and keep on keeping on..the rewards will be there.
