Guest guest
I have been a member of this group for about 1 week now and I just want to thank all of you for the wonderful information and support that can be found here. My new question for this week is about dealing with the S. dermatitis portion of this condition. I use Nizoral and have pretty good control. However I have flare-ups that even the nizoral doesn't seem to help. I don't know if it gets better because I just keep using the nizoral (don't know what else to do at these times) or if it would have just reduced anyway, because the stress or whatever brought it on has abated. Does any one have any experience with taking zinc as a Supplement, or with tea tree oil as a topical for the S dermatitis? I'd like to hear any one's results. Here is something I found this week that be of help to other women looking for a good makeup. I have moderate redness most of the time with broken veins on my nose and cheeks and chin. The worst part of this disease for me is looking like I'm always embarrassed. I tried prescriptives foundation this week and was really impressed. I didn't have to layer it over that goopy green base that never really works, and I was really impressed with how much of the red it covered. So far no reaction to the makeup (I found I have to be careful, a lot of the makeup now causes burning, another thing to appreciate about this condition) I don't know though how well it will cover during a full blush. hope this info helps someone out there. Guest guest
Hi-- I've been taking 30mg of zinc every night for about a week now, along with some other vitamins and supplements. Can't really comment on how well it works, but I tend to believe that dietary supplements work best synergistically, so just adding one may not necessarily bring noticeable benefits. Regardless, zinc is probably a good thing to take, though there are some things you should be aware of. Most importantly, don't take it within two hrs of an antibiotic (esp. tetracyclines), or it will decrease the antibiotic's absorption and it may not be as effective. Also, too much zinc (over 100mg a day, I think) can throw off the mineral balance in your body, esp. b/n zinc and copper. Zinc is supposed to help boost the immune system and help accelerate the healing of the skin. I believe it is a component in the sebaceous glands. Here's a site I used to learn more about zinc as a supplement: http://onhealth.com/ch1/resource/vitamins/item,13891.asp Good luck! --- Rialjj@... wrote: > > I have been a member of this group for about 1 week > now and I just want to > thank all of you for the wonderful information and > support that can be found > here. > My new question for this week is about dealing with > the S. dermatitis portion > of this condition.
