Guest guest
Thanks !!!!!!! I guess Camomille tea is off my list. Back to water and oatmeal I guess. It has been almost four weeks now and 3 doses of methotrexate. I think it is starting to kick in. I have started to come down off the 75mg of prednisone. Only 50 everyother day. (only missed one last night first one) RP is still bounching between my ear and throat. But only a couple of hours a day now. I can't believe it has taken this long. My doc is saying 1 to 2 more months. Getting me off the prednisone is top priopity. She thinks I will be on the methotrexate for about 3 months. I relief is nice. It is like ohh this feels better. Guest guest
Hi and everyone thanks for the sites, but when i tried to access i keep on getting an error message etc... would it be possible to please verify links and let me know thanks a bunch btw, i took Astragalus all winter long regularly and stopped taking it in the Spring... i have to wonder now if that may have contributed to my flare up. Don't underestimate the power of herbs and such. love Carmela ***************************************** >Someone on the autoimmune list sent this out and she gave me permission to >post it to this list. >Some very interesting stuff here. >Also, Carmela, I believe you ask about vitamins, this might also help you >with that question. Guest guest
Eileen, Kathleen (NY) here. You can't just go " off " methotrexate after three months. It's like Pred, you have to be weaned. I began treatments of metho in March and after 10 weeks, Dr. T reduced the dosage by 2.5 mgs. I am to repeat blood work every 8 weeks and following outcome IF all the blood levels are within normal range, he will reduce the metho another 2.5 mgs until I can be completely weaned and that won't be until sometime the end of October. I'm only giving advise based on my own treatment, but I think you should raise this question about stopping meth after three months with your Dr. If you have any questions, please feel free to call me . Guest guest
Thanks everyone. It probably was my misunderstanding from my doctor. She probably means will try to start tapering. I have a great doc. She is very current and up to date. Fir me it is just accepting that this is a process. It is gonig to take a while and I have to accept it. I have to keep my body healthy and manage this disease. It is nice to hear what others have experienced. It helps me manage it or is it managing me?? So I am resting and accepting that fact that I probably am going to be off work for 6 to 8 weeks and rest. This damm RP though last night I was in tears my knee was F....... aching. So it is running its course chasing it from my ear to my throat with a little stop in my knee oh well. You know there sure are some beautiful flowers out there. Don't forget to take those one minute vactions.
