Guest guest
Kim, Are you worried about people seeing you nurse? Have you tried nursing in the mirror to practice being discreet while nursing. I won't cover up for anyone. If my baby needs to nurse I nurse him. We were at a 4th of July BBQ and Zaid was fairly shy and uncomfortable so he wanted to nurse a lot. I just sat right there having a conversation with people I had just met and put my toddler on my lap and nursed him. I noticed that anyone that felt uncomfortable either averted there eyes or found an excuse to leave the room. If other people are uncomfortable about you feeding I think that is their problem. Don't overheat yourself or your baby. Just be proud to feed your baby the best food in the world. Wendi BF in hot weather From: TATKAT1@... OK moms, I have a question. It's summertime, which means hot weather most of the time. When I am in public or at a friend's house and I need to feed my son, I throw a light blanket over my shoulder and let him eat. That way I don't feel like I'm " overexposing " myself. But it's been in the 90's here lately, and he just gets too hot and sweaty to be under a blanket. Any suggestions? Alot of times I have seen people wearing them and just thought at first there baby was sleeping in the lap thne noticed they were nursing. Motherwear has lots of great iteams I like that place alot. But if you can't afford or don't want to buy nursing shirts just try to wear shirts that don't tuck in and pull the shirt down so your breast is covered up and you will feel more covered. Don't worry to much if somone catches a glmps of your breast the world will not come to an end and once you try it this way you won't go back to the blanket. Guest guest
Also, you can use the blanket to get the baby initially latched on and then remove it. And as for nursing shirts, if you don't want to pay a ton, look in consignment shops or on EBAY. I've had good luck finding them both places.
