Hello,

Can anyone please tell me of a dr in Orange County or Riverside, CA who treats aggresively with antibiotics? I have Lyme and I am having a really hard time treating it. I heard there is a dr. Franco, has anyone been to him? Is there anyone else in any of these area's? thank you very much, K

Hello,

Dr. Franco's contacts are:

A. Franco, M.D. (rheumatologist - IV and oral)

Andre P. Lallande, D.O. (June 2000)

Arthritis Center of Riverside

4000 14th Street - Suite 511

Riverside, CA 92501

P : 909-788-0850

F : 909-788-4966

I can send you the contacts for other doctors in California if you want

them, but Dr. Franco has treated thousands of patients with

antibiotic therapy and is one of the most experienced rheumatologists in

the world with this therapy.

I go to Dr. Steve , the son of Nick , the head of Igenex Lab that does many different types of Lyme tests. I like him, as he specializes in Lyme and goes to all the conferences. He is willing to treat pretty aggressively. We are trying Levaquin and Cedax now (Levaquin due to the Klebsiella and Proteus in my gut), alternating with Minocin every few weeks. His number is 619-977-8996. He practices in San Diego and Long Beach and may move to N. Calif, but come down to the L.A. area several days per month. He also is doing phone appointments with patients, which is more convenient in many cases for follow ups. I'm not sure if he deals much with insurance as of now, but since insurance often won't recognize the tests used, they may not be very relevant in many cases.

Dear K,

Dr. Franco in Riverside is one of giants in AP treatment. He will want to

start with a lot of expensive tests. Get a price quotation before you

start. His website is

http://www.thearthritiscenter.com

I was able to obtain my first AP prescription from Dr. Svetlana Stivi of

the Whitaker Wellness Institute, who is very good. See

http://www.whitakerwellness.com/html/staffbios.html

The Whitaker Wellness Institute is located in Orange County, CA, just off

OC Airport. They work with Medicare, but not with any private insurance

company.

Sincerely, Harald

Wow, thank you very much for telling me of this dr. I really think I will see him. Do you know how much longer he will be in San Diego and Long Beach? I should set up an appointment with him soon before he leaves. I am also having real bad problems with stomach bacteria, does he look into that and treat it? thanks,

I think he said that if he goes up north, it won't be for a few months. I'm not certain about the stomach bacteria, but he does use Great Smokies Diagnostic Lab's stool tests, so I assume he would be able to deal with the stomach too, like with Helicobacter test and treatment.
