Enjoy the race. Did you see the flip yesterday in the Sprint Cup

Qualifying? Pretty spectacular to get out and walk away and only have a

little soreness from his knees hitting each other.

Now, as to your eye, I know this must be terrifying. I would make sure I

talked to my specialist the first of the week because holding tight

wouldn't be enough for me. On the other hand I do like that there is a

date already set that they are going to fix this if its not corrected. I

don't know how VA works and don't know what is possible but this is

something I'd sure prefer to have more than one opinion on and maybe you

do with your VA doctors. But, I'd want to hear Monday from my specialist

that I shouldn't be panicked over the latest turn of events, not from

someone else alone.

Meanwhile you have two races and lots of preliminary events and post

race talk to carry you through. It is a racing intensive weekend. Of

course around here it is a " do not go anywhere near the speedway

weekend. "

HI MARY LOU! SO SORRY TO HEAR ABOUT YOUR LATEST EYE DIFFICULTIES. I

HOPE YOU GET SOME RELIEF SOON SO THAT IT CLEARS UP. I WANTED TO ASK YOU

A QUESTION ABOUT NASCAR. WHO IS YOUR FAVORITE DRIVER? EDDIE & I LOVED

DALE JARRETT, BUT NOW HE IS RETIRED. EDDIE HAS CHOSEN CARL EDWARDS AND

I HAVEN'T DECIDED. I THINK IT IS INTERESTING TO SEE WHO WINS.

Good Morning:............................................

As you know my left eye had a retinal aneurysm Easter Sunday. It has slowly (SLOWLY) been getting better. But yesterday about 6pm, I was walking down the hall in our apt and all of a sudden my left eye was darkened with black. I couldn't see a thing. It scared me to death. I called the VA Eye Institute here and the Dr. on call called me back and told me it was bleeding. I told him it scared me so badly, I thought I was going blind. He said he would contact my specialist and to just hold tight. Well I can't find anything tight to hold on to so I am writing to you. I hope they know what they are doing.Apparently, no one told me this blood would happen. Real nice, huh? Guess it is just part of the aneurysm healing. On the 23rd of April if it has not gone away, they will have to operate and get the blood out. It's just one more thing, isn't it? I don't have any depth perception but I am not going to do a whole lot today, ( is fine).I will be watching the Nascar race today at 3pm EST from the TEXAS MOTOR SPEEDWAY. Hope you all have a great weekend.Love, Lou

Good Morning, Lou. Your eye is scaring me to death. I've been

reading all your posts about it and it just sounds so scary. My mom

has problems with one eye. It started last summer with what she

thought was an eye infection, like pink eye, or something like that.

She was mostly just very sensitive to light and it felt like

something was in her eye. She went to her family doctor, who

prescribed some kind of antibiotic eye drops and after a week it was

no better, and had actually gotten worse. Then, she finally went to

an eye specialist, who determined it was a form of " herpes " [sp?].

She had to take Valtrex and a steroid type of eye drop to get it

under control. Well, it has been nearly a year now, and, although

her eye is better, it is still not back to normal. The eye doctor

told her it will probably never be normal again, and she may have to

be on Valtrex forever to keep the herpes under control. It will even

flare up when she is stressed. The stress brings it on. There have

been times she couldn't even hardly open her eye it was so sensitive

to light! Oh, and the antibiotic the family doctor had put her on

apparently made it worse. Gee whiz....it's crazy to deal with

illness, injury or anything which requires medical intervention.

I hope your eye gets better. I will be praying for you.

God Bless,

Tina

Lou, I HATE it when drs don't tell us what might happen. For me, when it

happens I

not only get scared but start to think I must be crazy, for thinking something

is wrong or

worse when it isn't! I hope you are comfortable and confident with your dr.

I'm glad

is there, hang on tight to her! I'm sorry this is happening. I'm sending lots

of hugs and

positive energy your way.

Lou,

I would be so scared. I hate that you now have to go all weekend with no treatment. Maybe it is just me, but this all sounds waaaaaay serious and it seems no one is overly concerned....except you.

Lou,

In Sept. O6 Joe fell when he stepped off his sons' porch and knew immediately he would need knee surgery. This was on a Wednesday. On Friday he said he felt like he had something in his eye and his sister said it might be a cold. On Saturday his eyesight was blurred in one eye. Sunday AM he was totally blind in that eye. First thing Monday morning I took him to the eye doctor and within 10 minutes he sent us to Atlanta to Georgia Retina Specialist. Joe had a detached retina from the fall. He did not have symptoms of floaters or anything else. His vision never returned after 2 surgeries and now his eyesight is 20/2000 or some extreme number. So please get to doctor ASAP, do not wait until Monday or Tuesday. I am not trying to scare you, but there maybe something other than bleeding going on. Good luck and keep us posted.

Oh, Lou, I hope you have a good report and it is something they can correct without surgery. Please be sure and go see a doc first thing tomorrow. Let us know how it goes. I will be thinking of you. CaroJOE & JOANIE LAMENSKIE wrote: Lou,
