Guest guest
Rick and , I am much better this was probably the easiest attack I had..only a day to get the counts down and I say it is because of the Whipple..I don't mind telling you about it at all...depending on where his blockage is they will either cut the head or the tail of the pancreatis in my case it was the head of the pancreatis they then cut part of the bowel and intestines to construct from the pancreatis to the stomach so that they can reattach it all back together.. I won't lie it is a big surgery..but I felt so much better even right after surgery, I went through some ruff times I couldn't eat right away so I lost alot of weight, I had myself had a G tube J tube and T tube and 2 drainage tubes coming out of my stomach, the first drainage tube came out day 3 after surgery and the other one right before I went home, the G tube is right into the stomach and drains it for you they will block it and unblock it after surgery to try and get your stomach working.. the J tube was used to give me the tube feeding since I couldn't eat and the T tube was the bile drainage, I came home with all the tubes but the drainage tubes, and then 2 weeks after I was home the G and J tube was taken out because I was able to eat again, but they left the T tube in because it was into where they had sew the organs together and he wanted to make sure they were healed right before he pulled that one out. I wasn't in much pain but I guess the pain was just nothing compared to the pancreatis pain for me.. I didn't have to much problem with it but you have to remember it is a big surgery and to take one day at a time and don't over do it.. the nurse that came into the house told me that it is as big as an open heart surgery... I know others will tell you stuff too but if any questions feel free to ask I did the same thing and if you want I will call you.. I had Henry that talked to me on the phone which helped so much to talk to someone who had it done.. if anything I can do please ask... Hugs and Kisses you are in my thoughts and prayers love and friendship in Mich.
