The horror stories you hear about people waiting is months is because of

Insurance battles. That is the big hold up for most.

One thing you will need before you get there is an EKG and blood work. Also,

don't forget to call for a clinic appointment. You actually need an

appointment.

CONGRATULATIONS on your date. I am scheduled as a self pay on March 20th. I

can't wait.

My date is this Wednesday and I am quite nervous too. Juxt han in there and

make sure you have someone with you to hold your hand. My mom is coming down

from PA to be with me.

I have a question for all you local to RDU post-ops. My second clinc was

2/19 and because my surgery wasn't that next week, I didn't get my pre-op

instructions. Did any of you have to go to Durham Regional before surgery

for an EKG and blood work. If so, let me know what I need to do before

Wednesday. Thanks!

Hi

Just call Debbie and put your mind at ease about your surgery date. Also

when you call the hospital that is when it kicks in that you are really going

to have it and the excietment inside you is overwhelming. I had my surgery

2-22-00 and came home this past Friday and i am still excieted even though

Dr. R. had some problems with me and so much scar tissue to work with. I am

home now fine still have some pains but for the most i feel the best i have

in years just knowing God seen the way for me to have the surgery and Dr. R.

for giving me the second chance at a new life. So don't be afraid be happy

and CONGRADS and keep in touch.

, If you are truly concerned just email Debbie or call her on the

phone and verify your date. Everyone is nerveous and all excited all at the

same time when they get down to making the final plans. Sounds like yours

are well into place. So happy for you. I had to pay cash too. But I am

sueing the insurance company as we speak. Will report on that when I hear

something to report! So, is someone going with you? It sure is nice to

have someone along for moral support as well as physical support.. Bless

you,

Jo,

Yes the scar tissues were from the vertical banded surgery i had in 93.

It took him 2 1/2 hrs to do my surgery and i was in the hospital from Tuesday

morning day of my surgery til the following Friday then i came home . Doing

good still have some pain but not taking no meds for the pains since Friday.

Good luck to you and keep me posted. I am here to help you .

,

We will be littermates! My surgery is also for

March 13th. My Mom, myself, and daughter are flying

in on Friday, March 10th on NW airline. We stop at

Memphis before proceeding on to Durham. We will be

staying at Homewood Suites. Email me when you get a

chance.

When is your Clinic date/time?

Hi guys,

I'm new at this too, and I want to know how all the self pay are doing it.

Do you pay everything and everybody all up front? What about the hospital,

testing people ect.? Thanks,

Tonni

Ann,

I think I'm gonna have to start looking into this. I haven't heard anything

on my insurance, but while I'm waiting, I might as well look into this so I

don't have to KEEP waiting! Good Luck
