Guest guest
> I have probably mentioned this before. I have a friend at work who is a nurse. She knows I have FM but will talk to me about anything and everything but that. I would like for someone to once in a while act as if they give a shit when I look like shit and feel that way too. > I go around at work with this anger. I don't show it.. but deep inside it hurts. They all have sympathy for anyone with a cold or a virus, but none for someone with this damn disease. > love, > Debra V. Debra, I can sooooo relate! For example: I was talking with a coworker one time as she was explaining a woman she was working with who has fibro, and how the poor woman had to quit her job, and how terrible fibro is. I just looked at her dumbfounded and replied that I have fibro! (she knows this already) Her response was that " well, this woman has it really bad! " Even when people sort of understand, it seems to be hard to really know that just because we don't look sick, and just because we keep trying to get to work and do what is expected of us...it doesn't necessarily mean that we don't have fibro, or that we aren't as sick. I think some of us have high tolerance or something....maybe it is, like for me, that we really can't afford to quit! I would love to be able to do that, but I don't think I can make it without an income and ssdi just doesn't sound too easy to get...and maybe THEY won't think I'm that sick either. Oh dear, I think that this cold is making me more susceptible to the pain tonight..... Thanks for listening. Vicki norther MN
