, I've printed out the info...for now all I can tell you is that

h and I will be there, for certain. Chaz may or may not make the

trip, depending on work. We will likely stay at the Inns of America

because I think our stay will only be for those 3 nights. We would

like to drive to L.A. to see a taping of the Craig Ferguson show and I

need to look at a calendar to figure that one out....on most Thursdays

he tapes 2 shows and the audience stays for both so h and I want

to fit that in somehow....

Chaz is talking about buying a motorhome which would change things for

us too. We would obviously be bringing our own sleeping quarters...

At this moment, h and I will fly to San Diego and rent a car.

Chaz may change things up on us, but we'll be there!

I'll contribute whatever you wish towards food, but y'all REALLY don't

want me doing any of the cooking! :) Chaz can bar-b-que like no

one's business though, and h makes a mean potato salad!

The date is fine with me, but I'm flexible and will be there for any

date y'all choose. And it goes without saying, but I'll say it

anyway...this is all depending on my health situation.

Thanks for all your hard work on this! It sounds like we're going to

have fun, fun, fun!!!

Hugs!

for the weekend of September 12-14. Because food is expensive, I

thought places that have kitchens would be best. That way you can eat

out once a day, but have the other two meals in and /or we can plan to

do a potluck or cook a few meals together. Our options are:

> 1. A hotel about ¼ mile from the beach called Inns of America.

It is not fancy but they are mini suites and look clean. Rates are

139.00 per night for a jr suite double occupancy. Right now they have

a special of book two nights get the third free. View them at :

http://innsofamerica.com/

> 2. If people are planning to stay a week, I think renting beach

houses would be better. Rates are about 1,200 a week for a nice two

bedroom. If couples shared, that would be less than 100.00 a day.

Here is one of my favorites:

> 3. The house next door has 4 bedrooms and I think we could book

both at the same time. They are right across from the beach, so you

would have an ocean view and both had yards that we can hang out

together, barbeque, etc. : http://www.beachhouse.com/8268.htm

> 4. Last choice would be a Motel 6 or Days Inn about a mile from

the beach. Both offer continental breakfast and are about 100.00 a day.

need me to find something cheaper ( this would mean being further away

from the coast).

... We have finally made a decision not to go to CA. We both would like to and needless to say I soooo much want to meet other members but we would have to drive the entire length of CA as well as OR. That is just too long a drive for us old farts. We can't afford to fly and add that expense too. Not that I have to explain but I want 'youse guys' out there to know why mama-Sher isn't coming.

I'm trying to get something together here in our neck of the woods....Portland or Seattle area. We have a few here...Kathie, Joy, Steve, Armede as well as myself. There may be others close enough but not on the database. I know there is a gal in Riddle but can't remember her name after so much time.

I'll feel sad and po'd for a couple of days and then I'll accept the things I cannot change.

Thanks for your time in making arrangements tho' ........I'll look forward to the pictures of course.

Mama-Sher, age 69. IPF 3-06, OR. Don't fret about tomorrow, God is already there!

Sher

Get that Oregon regional group you mention together and that will be

wonderful. The great thing about that too is that those of you there

will be able to meet and see each other more times in the future. I know

I'd love to meet you as everyone else would but I'm not sure I'm going

to make it to California either. And, as great as the meetings can be of

those we've talked to and then get to meet at least once, the meetings

with those you can maintain contact with can be even greater I would

think.

Omg I can't wait until next time I see Gwynne. Now me always driving

there may go out the window soon if she's in better shape than me. I

might meet her halfway as she initially volunteered. Although she sure

knows good places to eat around her home. But, I know I don't intend to

let San be the last time I meet some of the people in Texas.

We'd like to all meet everyone else, but thats just not possible, so

don't dwell on not getting to California, just make sure you Oregonians

pull some things together.
