Hi ,

Ive had 12 treatments so far. They have made a huge

difference in the texture of my skin. I plan on doing a few more after some

Photoderm or laser. I have had no negative reactions from these treatments.

I agree that this procedure might not be for everyone and to

go slowly if you decide to do it. I was started on a lower pressure setting

and gradually increased to a high one. I never had any bleeding from it, but

would occasionally get a red mark here and there and my skin would look

sunburnt. That all fades in a couple of days. I have REALLY sensitive skin. I

can feel a piece of hair or any particle on my skin, yet these treatments

seem to have made my skin less sensitive. Go figure.....

Well, I went out on a limb there too. I had Photoderm done 3

months after Accutane and I am fine. I started microdermabrasion about 6

months after stopping Accutane. No problems (I was also on a low dosage for a

short period of time). I was never told that there would be a problem with

microdermabrasion and being off of Accutane for less than a year. Where I

have these treatments done they were aware of the Accutane use. The derm

wouldn't do VersaPulse on me for 6 months after stopping, but I didn't care

so much about that since I already had Photoderm done.

I do understand the wait since the skin does become even more

fragile from Accutane. Mine was for a couple of months after stopping it. I

just feel that this year wait after stopping Accutane (at least on a small

dosage for a short period of time) to do any procedure is way too

conservative.

Of course it is up to each individual to research all of this

and do what they think is right. Im glad that I did both of these procedures

when I did since it helped me regain some sort of a normal appearance again

and Im not so freaked out by this disease anymore.

Bill
