Guest guest
Hi, My name is Debbie. I live in N.C. I have an appointment with Dr. Rosier on Jan.7. I saw a neurosurgeon close to where I live but would like to have a second opinion. I have been diagnosed with Chiari 1 Malformation with a syrinx extending from the lower aspect of C-2 to the upper aspect of C-5. It is 30 x 8 x 8mm. I have had numbness and pain in my left arm, leg and big toe. I have also had trouble swallowing, have had depression and a heavy feeling in the back of my neck. My neurosurgeon advises since this comes and goes and doesn't affect my quality of life that much to just wait and see what happens and have an MRI once a year to see if it gets worse. That's why I want a second opinion. I don't know much about chiari but from what I've read on the internet if you catch it early enough and have the surgery you will have a better outcome than if you wait until it gets worse. I would like some comments on this and would like to know if anyone has been to Dr. Rosier. Thanks, Dizinc
