Guest guest
Steve....I'm going to try the treadmill today and see what happens. No particular time frame at all. I'm just wondering how many of us are interested....it will have to be after your cruise and Kathie gets back from AZ. I don't remember if she plans on going to CA in Sept. or not. We are very flexible. Even if it's just a lunch together that can be done pretty much anytime. Are you going to CA? Mama-Sher, age 69.IPF 3/06, NSIP 4/08 OR. Guest guest
Hey Sher, The support group was so positive yesterday about getting up and doing. I helped with dinner and cleared the dishwasher. Vickie was in a funk because she didn't think her co-workers and family understand what it's like to care for someone with IPF and other health problems. I told her they didn't and were mostly interested in their lives and dreams. We talked more, I basically listened, and I had a note from her saying she felt much better. Last night I could not sleep and was awake when she left. I got up about 2 pm and feel like I participated in a marathon. Much pain and fatigue. I'm determined to get up and do more despite how I felt today. I was thinking any weekend Fri and Sat in Jun. We could all have dinner or just coffee and dessert on Friday evening at the hotel we choose. Saturday morn we could caravan to the Pike Place Market. Vickie and I never get tired of the market. Then we could meet back at the hotel for Dinner. And back to homes on Sunday. Orbitz.com has hotels in various price ranges. Especially by the airport. My wife has told me to quit spending money. So probably not going to Ca. I love that area and would love to go however. Guest guest
Steve...it feels good doesn't it, to "do" a little here and there. Makes us feel part of....I cooked dinner tonight...Rich does the dishes then, or visa-versa. Don't overdo Steve, a little here and a little there stacks up for us. Much pain and fatigue may be saying you did a little too much. Listen to your body. I'm sure glad you have the oximeter. I've been to Pike Place Market, a neat place to poke around. Do you have a particular hotel in mind? Would be nice if we could all stay at the same place. We will be driving so location is not terribly important. Let's try June and see how others respond. Perhaps a couple will see this post....... Mama-Sher, age 69.IPF 3/06, NSIP 4/08 OR. Don't fret about tomorrow, God is already there! Guest guest
Hi Steve When I have jobs to do, (and as an at-home-mum to a 5 year old, there are plenty of those) I have a 15 min rule. I have mentioned it on here before and I know others have adopted it, so I don't know if anyones told you of it. If you have a job to do, set your timer for 15 mins, then when you've done 15 mins stop and rest. I find this also works for daunting tasks that you don't really know where to start. You'll be surprised how far you've got after 15 mins. Love Ze xx>> Steve...it feels good doesn't it, to "do" a little here and there. Guest guest
Tina, Sometime's I don't know how you keep up with everything. Deal with our problem and be an inspiration and teacher to this group and a child too. Amazing. I do think you're out of this world. Oh yes thanks for the 15 min rule, I think I'll use 10 min to start. Guest guest
This was an INSPIRED bit of advice which I now follow even though I'm not on O2 yet. It also matches the advice I heard on doing the excact same thing while exercising....the body works at dumping FAT cells best when it is reassured the body is SAFE.....stopping every 15 mins fools the body into a false sense of security that it's OK to be using up precious fat stores... Of course with exercise you are meant to do at least 4 lots of 15 mins in each session! OOPs did I mention THAT word....hopefully that Mama ain't reading THIS or I'll be in BIG trouble! lol SGIO> >> > Steve...it feels good doesn't it, to "do" a little here and there.> Makes us feel part of....I cooked dinner tonight...Rich does the dishes> then, or visa-versa.> > Don't overdo Steve, a little here and a little there stacks up for us.> Much pain and fatigue may be saying you did a little too much.
