Guest guest
, we are OK with prices but we are still hoping to bring our RV down. i NEED to be close, close, close to the beach. I need, need, need it! So I guess and I will probably make back up reservations in case we don't drive down. And besides the beach, where are we going to be??? Is it near San Diego or do I remember Dana Point or...???? says he needs more info that CA = loong beach (lol). My daughter lives in Redondo Beach, how far away is that? Thanks for doing the research. Don't wear yourself out before we even get there! Kathie > > Dear California Beach Goers, > I need a vote and some input to plan our trip. We are trying for the weekend of September 12-14. Because food is expensive, I thought places that have kitchens would be best. That way you can eat out once a day, but have the other two meals in and /or we can plan to do a potluck or cook a few meals together. Our options are: > 1. A hotel about ¼ mile from the beach called Inns of America. It is not fancy but they are mini suites and look clean. Rates are 139.00 per night for a jr suite double occupancy. Right now they have a special of book two nights get the third free. View them at : http://innsofamerica.com/ > 2. If people are planning to stay a week, I think renting beach houses would be better. Rates are about 1,200 a week for a nice two bedroom. If couples shared, that would be less than 100.00 a day. Here is one of my favorites: http://www.valuevacationrentals.com/vacation-rentals/2442/ > 3. The house next door has 4 bedrooms and I think we could book both at the same time. They are right across from the beach, so you would have an ocean view and both had yards that we can hang out together, barbeque, etc. : http://www.beachhouse.com/8268.htm > 4. Guest guest
...thanks so much for this update! I know how busy you have been and these arrangements take time as you look around. We're still a bit unsure but if we come we'll probably go for Motel 6 or Days Inn because we prefer our own room and I often crash late afternoon and would feel free to do that in "our own room". I don't think $100 can be beat in that area. You say about a mile from the beach, does that also mean where everyone will be....a mile away? All you say sounds really good and wise decisions about doubling up/cooking. Where would I call for the Motels I mentioned? It's not far to drive back and forth. Thanks again. Mama-Sher, age 69. IPF 3-06, OR. Don't fret about tomorrow, God is already there! Car Shopping.... whew! h and I spent the day car shopping. I wore my O2!!! Yay for myside!!!I hate shopping for cars. Just can't stand the whole process. We founda few that we are thinking about, and the young salesman was soinfatuated with h that I think they have a date.... :)Even though I wore the O2 I am still very tired, so I will catch upwith y'all later after I've rested. We're thinking about going trout fishing tomorrow in the Blanco StatePark. I can do it from the bank and not have to worry about all theeffort that getting in and out of the boat entails.Mostly I just wanted to say ...... I WORE MY O2!!!! :)Hugs Y'all,Babs You rock. Guest guest
denise i am sorry about delay in replying to this. i have been out today organising kilts for the two dads. my future son in law's mum and i were maybe going to browse for outfits today but only did the kilts - maybe thats best. we have discussed colours etc., so as long as we dont pick the same outfit we will be okay. from the replies i have seen it looks like there isn't enough interest in the house for a week. i suspect i am the only one staying longer than 3/4 days. it is still a bit early for me to set in stone my plans. i will just have to take my chances with later arrangements. i want to check out insurance quotes and flight prices first. my o2 provider spooked me a few weeks back telling me how much another client had to pay for insurance. we checked last year so i'm sure it wont be that prohibitive. i looked at your links and they all seem great. i really appreciate all the energy you have put into researching this for us. you are wonderful. no-one new has declared an interest in coming so i hope you can relax, its up to us now to decide what we will do and beg your assistance. much respect may uip 0606 scotland > > Dear California Beach Goers, > I need a vote and some input to plan our trip.
