Guest guest
So – the pain in my shoulder spread to my neck, ear and down my left arm… yesterday I had a rash on my upper left arm. I went to the doc and it is herpes zoster – or shingles… it is very much a nuisance let me tell you!! The rash doesn’t bother me (after my DM rash these little dots seem like nothing) – but the pain is quite intense… the doc has me taking 1000mg (1GM) of Valtrex 3x daily for 10 days. I read that the pain can last for 4-5 weeks… and sometimes LONGER!!! Anyone have any info for me? Guest guest
Liesel, When one of my sons was 12 years old, he got shingles. He complained of pain in his back and up his side for two weeks or more before the blisters broke out and we found out what was bothering him. The doctor told us to keep him home from school and let it run its course and give him aspirin for the pain. Yeah right!! I had read in the Prevention magazine that large doses of Vit C was being given to eldery patients with shingles as well as putting Vit E directly on the blisters. I proceeded to give him 500mg of Vit C mixed in 4 oz of orange juice 4 x a day and put Vit E directly on the blisters twice a day. In less than 3 weeks you would never know that he had had shingles. No scars or residual pain. My father had had the shingles a few years previously and he still was bothered with some residual pain. I told him about the Vit C. He took some for a while and said that the pain had disappeared. May have been co-incidence for him, not sure. HTH Carol/Piney rheumatic Shingles... Guest guest
Thank you for the information.....question, I have a horse that has an amoeba infection and he is slightly anemic. Has anyone used the glutathione (whey) on a pet? So far, the vets around here have not been able to help. My SCIO showed amoeba and all of the symptoms fit. Joint pain, irritable, etc. Thank you, ShafiiDuncan Crow <duncancrow@...> wrote: Grant, because shingles arises when immune system response is low, I treat shingles by improving immune response. Glutathione increase is paramount for immune response so we use undenatured whey and selenium, and if we need to improve the numbers of the whiote blood cells too, we use Transfer Factor. Remember, ALL infection is increases when glutathione is low, and is absent when glutathione is high. Guest guest
Why not use the immune stimulation, search and zap amoeba programs as a starter. Amoeba is often found in water supplies....what about its water source? I know horses are notorius for dirty troughs, but santizing the trough could and probably would be of a benefit. This horse if around others can pass this on.
