Valium as a stress reducer

Has anyone evr been prescribed valium to help reducing stress after surgery.

A doctor in NY strongly suggested taking valium(10s) to reduce the stress in

my daily life to help with the healing process. I'm a little leary of it,

only because they can become habit forming, and single parenthood with 3

young children will always be stressed, even when they are grown(so I've

heard). If anyone has any suggestions, or experience with this please let me

know.
