Guest guest
Bruce... yes it has been too long w/no word about Gwynnie. I used to walk on the treadmill. About 2.5 for 20 min or so and I'm hoping I can do a little again. I will try the treadmill tomorrow. Our granddaughter is w/us this weekend, in the 2nd BR and the treadmill is standing up. No room to even put it down. I haven't tried it w/O2...I'm anxious......... If the Echo is good then I should be good to go as well! Mama-Sher, age 69.IPF 3/06, NSIP 4/08 OR. Don't fret about tomorrow, God is already there! Re: SherBruce SherYou will be shocked at the treadmill. Start at the slowest speed andhave your concentrator at your activity level. If you see your satsdropping, turn the concentrator up. But, that dreadful machine ordreadmill is amazing I think when one actually has enough oxygen. Iremember the first time I got on with oxygen and I thought "omg this iseasy, sure wish I'd known before why it was so impossible for me."> > > > > >> > > > > > Sher,> > > > > > I'm happy to hear the doctors have switched your diagnosis.> NSIP> > > > > is definitely preferable to IPF, the life expectancy is much> longer> > > > > and as a bonus, it does not always progress. Guest guest
Sher and " Normal " used together....lol Ok, why didn't you use oxygen on the treadmill? You'd be amazed and you wouldn't have your sats drop into the 80's. Staying up pretty good at 86 isn't enough. Not when it would have been so simple to have used just a little oxygen and kept them above 90 and felt much better through the walk. It's great the echo results were " normal " but the way to keep them that way as long as possible is oxygen. Pulmonary Hypertension is an evil you want to do everything possible to avoid. Ok, now that I've fussed, I just want to hug you, I'm so proud of you walking. Ten minutes is an absolutely great way to start. I hope you feel proud of yourself. And, don't give or any of the rest of us crazies the credit. Yes, she is a bit inspiring, but it was you who saw that you wanted to do different and gave yourself the boot in the behind. Yes, I angered one doctor's office by saying I wanted particular results i was waiting for from the doctor and not anyone else, but I knew I'd have questions and I did. Now, my primary physician might have his nurse call but if I say I want to speak to him about it, he's quickly on. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Sher, > > > > > > > > > > I'm happy to hear the doctors have switched your > > > diagnosis. Guest guest
Bruce...well the reason I didn't use O2 is because I wanted to see how I did w/o it. I did really well actually. And back to being told by Dr that if my sats are up, I don't need O2.... As I said, sats bumped to 87, 89, and back up again....so I didn't need O2 I guess. Yesterday I didn't use O2 all day for same reason...my sats were up low to mid 90s........ I've requested the results of the heart monitor and Echo be mailed to me and then I can read the results here at home. If need be, I'll go back and see Dr if I have questions. Yeah, Sher and normal all in the same line. hahaaaha I do want to move more. I will do another 10 min. tomorrow and start increasing it. Mama-Sher, age 69.IPF 3/06, NSIP 4/08 OR. Guest guest
Sher Key word if " sats are up. " 86 (I notice you changed it to 87 this time) isn't up. Under 90 isn't up. Your oximeter does have an error range so 89 could really be 87 or 86. Better safe than sorry so you can keep the echo looking like this one. You try the treadmill once with oxygen and you will be amazed at the difference. Instead of bumping 86, you'll bump 90 and spend most of the time at 93 or higher and you'll think you're dreaming. No, an occasional bump below isn't that bad if you come right up but you'll have enough of those bumps by accident and when unplanned so best not have them when one is able to help it. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Sher, > > > > > > > > > > > I'm happy to hear the doctors have switched your > > > > diagnosis. Guest guest
Sher Oh, its long off here and our voting time is up. You better vote correctly....lol wore her tshirt from Cook's high school, Blue Springs (Mo) South Jaguars, that I got her to school today. Now the real shock was a student she didn't know walked up to her and said " did you go or teach there? " Of course, said " no " . Turns out the girl went to that high school last year and is now in Rowlett, TX. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Sher, > > > > > > > > > > > > I'm happy to hear the doctors have switched > your > > > > > diagnosis. Guest guest
Caro/Sher He recovered from a poor week and based on some of the sources monitoring busy signals was leading the voting last night (ahead of Archuleta for a change). Of course having his brother there had to help. For those who don't know, some benefactors arranged for his half brother Adam, who has terminal cancer, to fly in from Terra Haute, Indiana for the show. He was sitting in the front row right between a and Randy. I like that American Idol didn't make mention of it last night, perhaps even at family request, but particularly not to use it to influence the voting. I am interested with the voting done for the week, if and how they will mention it tonight. My sources also believe they allowed Adam backstage after sang as he did disappear from his seat. > Bruce....I'll answer in the morning....gee whiz, AI is on! > Mama-Sher, age 69.IPF 3/06, NSIP 4/08 OR. > Don't fret about tomorrow, God is already there! > > ----- Original Message ----- > > > > Recent Activity > > 5 > New Members > > 19 > New Photos > > Visit Your Group > Meditation and > Lovingkindness > A Yahoo! Guest guest
Hi Bruce... about the sats/treadmill......... When I went to walk on treadmill yesterday my sats were ok so I didn't use O2.....I stopped a few times to check and sats were low 90s..bump a 86, 87, 89 and back on up to 90s. So. If my sats are not down, I'm told I don't need O2. When I walk today, I'll do the same thing...my O2 is hanging around my neck if I should have sats fall. Dr says I must stay oxygenated; don't need O2 unless sats fall below 88; I use O2 every night now, hooked to cpap; so if I'm above 90, I must be "oxygenated" ok I guess. I'm seldom using O2 during the day now. When I check the sat level it's ok..... I do get your point...use O2 and don't drop at all. However, I was using O2 most of the day, feeling better and pain level even seemed to decrease. Sats stayed in low to mid 90s. However, back to Dr....if my sats are up I don't need O2 so I stopped using it. Dumb life if you ask me! I have plenty of sob, frequently throughout the day. Often have to sit and puff. That's unpleasant and tiring but sats don't drop into 80s so I sit and pant and huff. Dumb life if you ask me!!! Mama-Sher, age 69.IPF 3/06, NSIP 4/08 OR. Guest guest
Sher Isn't it complicated? Well, it is a balancing act. Even among doctors. My doctor's advice isn't the same as yours. Who knows which is right. But mine would advise against the bouncing down into the 80's. Now, as to SOB, part of it with most of us is oxygen and part is just not being in the condition we want to be. I find as I exercise more, I reduce the second part of the SOB some. If I didn't have any lung disease i would still have some SOB just based on the years I failed to exercise. For that part I'm committed to the exercise and got to get started toward losing 20 pounds or so. I'm so thrilled to see you doing the exercising you've started. It also gives me incentive. You committed to that and are doing it. So, Sunday I will start my diet-lower carbs and sugar and the candy and chocolate will be gone. I will reward myself with one special meal and dessert per week. So, in addition to feeling good for you, I thank you for inspiring me to stop talking about it and committing to doing it. By July or August I will be back to my desired weight. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Sher, > > > > > > > > > > > > I'm happy to hear the doctors have switched > your > > > > > diagnosis. Re: Sher/Bruce Caro/SherHe recovered from a poor week and based on some of the sourcesmonitoring busy signals was leading the voting last night (ahead of Archuleta for a change). Of course having his brother there had tohelp. For those who don't know, some benefactors arranged for his halfbrother Adam, who has terminal cancer, to fly in from Terra Haute,Indiana for the show. He was sitting in the front row right betweena and Randy. I like that American Idol didn't make mention of itlast night, perhaps even at family request, but particularly not to useit to influence the voting. I am interested with the voting done for theweek, if and how they will mention it tonight. My sources also believethey allowed Adam backstage after sang as he did disappear fromhis seat.> Bruce....I'll answer in the morning....gee whiz, AI is on!> Mama-Sher, age 69.IPF 3/06, NSIP 4/08 OR.> Don't fret about tomorrow, God is already there!>> ----- Original Message ----->>>> Recent Activity>> 5> New Members>> 19> New Photos>> Visit Your Group> Meditation and> Lovingkindness> A Yahoo! Guest guest
Sher Only know what tells me on that subject and she filled me in completely over dinner last night. Of course, I did go to his hometown and get tshirts and a poster and photos of his school and stuff for her. > > Bruce....I'll answer in the morning....gee whiz, AI is on! > > Mama-Sher, age 69.IPF 3/06, NSIP 4/08 OR. > > Don't fret about tomorrow, God is already there! > > > > ----- Original Message ----- > > > > > > > > Recent Activity > > > > 5 > > New Members > > > > 19 > > New Photos > > > > Visit Your Group > > Meditation and > > Lovingkindness > > A Yahoo! Guest guest
Bruce...ya know....I've just made a decision! I'm going to use more O2 regardless of what Dr says. BECAUSE of the way I felt when using O2. Now mind you, I'm only on 2.5l so I don't think I can 'hurt' myself w/that low amount. At least RT says I cannot on that amt. Peggy mentioning hurting...I am too! I didn't hurt so much when using O2 regularly during the day. Have thoughts that maybe I can even decrease the pain pills!! I'm tired of being caught in a trap....can't breath, don't need O2. every day , on and on. Poop I say! My body tells me what I need I think. And I felt BETTER on O2. You saying you love oxygen. I was beginning to until the Dr made it sound like a snake in the grass to watch all the time. I'm more preoccupied lately w/O2 then I was with the damn disease to begin with. OK. Done. Thanks for listening. heehehee Hey, good for you too. We will both feel so good we can't stand it. I'll think of you when I'm walkin' and you can think of me when you are crying out for chocolate. Hahaaaahahaa Mama-Sher, age 69.IPF 3/06, NSIP 4/08 OR. Don't fret about tomorrow, God is already there! Re: Sher/Bruce SherIsn't it complicated?Well, it is a balancing act. Even among doctors. My doctor's adviceisn't the same as yours. Who knows which is right. But mine would adviseagainst the bouncing down into the 80's.Now, as to SOB, part of it with most of us is oxygen and part is justnot being in the condition we want to be. I find as I exercise more, Ireduce the second part of the SOB some. If I didn't have any lungdisease i would still have some SOB just based on the years I failed toexercise. For that part I'm committed to the exercise and got to getstarted toward losing 20 pounds or so.I'm so thrilled to see you doing the exercising you've started. It alsogives me incentive. You committed to that and are doing it. So, Sunday Iwill start my diet-lower carbs and sugar and the candy and chocolatewill be gone. I will reward myself with one special meal and dessert perweek. So, in addition to feeling good for you, I thank you for inspiringme to stop talking about it and committing to doing it. By July orAugust I will be back to my desired weight.> > > > > > > > > > > >> > > > > > > > > > > > Sher,> > > > > > > > > > > > I'm happy to hear the doctors have switched> your> > > > > diagnosis. Guest guest
Oh, I didn't know that!! That was great of them to do that!! I agree, too, that they did right by not mentioning it. You are right, they will probably mention it tonight. I was kinda surprised they didn't mention Pickler winning on the CMT Music Awards!
