Guest guest
I have been reading the posts recently and felt the need to comment on some of the issues that have been discussed recently. The first one is the use of diflucan. To the person who said they were prescribed it 2x every Sunday etc. This seems very excessive. Because of my long term use of antibiotics, I had yeast infection from my mouth all the way down, was actually diagnosed with vulvodynia, which has since resolved after stopping the antibiotic. I saw a couple of different doctors because of this. I was under the impression from the physicians that diflucan is really billed as the one time, one dose medication to relieve vaginal yeast infections only(although it does not cure yeast in the mouth aka thrush). I have been told that Diflucan can cause liver damage among other potential side effects. I would use it with caution. Also, I find it very interesting of all of the eye problems discussed. I was diagnosed with chronic blepharitis at the age of 3. It was so severe there were times I could not leave my bedroom because I was so light sensitive. My eyes were chronically red and my lids swollen. For a long time I saw specialists in Boston, I used eye creams, drops etc. I was put on steriods for this for such a long period of time, that I now have on approx. 5% of my cornea remaining in one of my eyes. A couple years ago, I found a great specialist at Yale New Haven Hospital who took me off of everything. Adivsed me to do hot compresses. Through the years, my blepharitis has cleared, probably because my body has changed through out the years. However, as my eye problems have resolved around the age of 20, I was diagnosed at the age of 25 with rosacea, which is now triggered mainly by food The only problem I have with my eyes now, is that since I have been off of antibiotics, if I don't get enough sleep, my eye lids burn I wonder if I had rosacea when I was 3 and it just didn't come out until my mid 20s as no one else in my family has eye problems I was also diagnosed and treated at Children's Newington Hospital for arthritis around the age of 10. I now wonder if these two illnesses tie in with rosacea?
