Never heard of it before. Is it related to the town mass suicide? Alan, Australia
Guest guest
Now that I think about it - I could just add some cocoa powder and splenda to my peanut butter and whip it around in the food processor (I'd eat the stuff with PB most likely anyway) and have sugar-free PB/Chocolate! Oooh, I bet if I go to Whole Foods downtown I might even find raw hazlenut butter... or at least cashew. Guest guest
Trader Joe's has a very tasty pure cashew/macademia butter (nothing added) that's very good and doesn't require me to use insulin. Sometimes when I'm feelin' that old craving I just have a spoonful of it. If I want sweet, I sprinkle an envelope of Splenda on it. It's not exactly lowfat, though, smile. Guest guest
SulaBlue: Great idea about mixing up your own chocolate nut butter. I love the hazelnut idea! WFS has alot of cheese but Central Market's selection is even better. (I think I remember you are in Austin?) Have you ever tried Gjost (not exactly sure of spelling)? It is a little sweet and tastes like caramel to me. A little higher in carb than most cheeses; makes a good dessert. Guest guest
For some reason, this reminded me of a favorite treat before I was diagnosed. I would put Pan crunchy peanut butter in vanilla ice cream. Now that's just a distant memory, LOL.
