Guest guest
I use my cane when I'm out because I'm so afraid of falling over. Even with the carriage one day at Walmart I lost my balance and knocked over a display. How embarrassing. like trying to explain why I'm walking with a cane, have a brace on my left arm and a huge shiner. You know people are saying, " That poor thing. Someone must be beating her. I used a cane as much for balance as anything. It was just an extra thing there that I could count on in case I stumbled. Z

Someone must be beating her. " Oh, <deity>! I know this one! When my sister moved out a number of years ago, that night, I was completely exhausted. I walked into the bathroom, tripped on the rug, and went flying into the towel rack. I was lucky I didn't put my eye out, but I got a huge shiner. When I went to work the next day, all day, people were poking their heads in the door and looking at me with eyes like saucers. Toward the end of the day, my boss called me into her office, and said " They told me I had to talk to you " . She wanted to know if someone had hit me. I'm glad that you use your cane. Balance issues are difficult. But it's also good that you're getting out and going to the store. And you don't have to explain to *anyone* why you use a cane! Z (of course, you could be like my grandmother, who would walk down the street at age 80 holding her cane in the air to show everyone that she didn't need it. ;D)
