Guest guest
Wow! I've never seen this discussed, but we have been going through the same thing! Tried three different electric razors, ended up with a top-of-the-line Norelco, still dissaatisfied. So, bought a new Schick, good blades, and with my shaving Bob, we had some success. But, after talking to several people who swear by an electric razor and wondering what the problem could be, and finalling following the barbar's advice, bought some pre-electric shave lotion. Believe it or not, it works! We leave it on for 15 minutes and then use the electric razor. It takes a bit longer than one would think that it should, but without using too much pressure we can eventuially get a decent shave. Bob also has a very heavy beard - he could shave a.m. and p.m. Make sure that you clean the razor each time. Good luck - let me know what you find that works! Guest guest
I've shaved electrically all my life. Here's a tip for you. Nothing dulls the blades on an electric shaver so fast as cleaning them with the brushes they provide. There is electric shaver cleaner, a special fluid that costs $4-6 an ounce when you can find it. My solution is to buy 409 or Fantastic spray household cleaner. It is much cheaper. I put an ounce or two in an empty tub like a margarine container, drop in my blades, put the lid on and let them soak over night. The next day I rinse it and let it dry for an hour or two. I only do this once a week or so and it really works (in between soakings I just blow the accumulated fuzz out of the shaving head.) The best part is that I save the cleaning liquid and reuse it many times. It retains its cleaning power even when it looks a bit muddy. Hope that this helps. Take care. > I have a tough beard.I shaved with a saftey razor, mug and brush my > whole life. Guest guest
Dennis: Go for the beard! My husband, Colo, also had a tough beard and was always on the hunt for a better shave. He had so much back pain when standing, and then loss of dexterity, so we kept pestering him to give up shaving. The day after our son's wedding he put away the razors, and got a beard trimmer. He could manage that for quite a while. It always got a good shape-up when he got a haircut, and I could keep it looking good between times.
