I'm trying to get set up on-line right now so I can go back to doing more. I worked with children with Autism and Aspergers Syndrome and their families and teachers. My son 30 has Aspergers Syndrome and he is a Special Ed teacher. He's also working on his Masters in Special Ed. It is a very rewarding field. Was it fibro that made you give it up? Marti Omygoodness guys, I just found this and hadn't realized I never answered you! Please forgive me. I've had a sinus infection all week with a bad, headache daily. Brain fog is high! UGH. I have worked with all sorts and types of disabilities. Everything from brain injuries to blindness, and everything inbetween. I have done in home care and teaching in the public as well as private schools. From birth through adult. My favorite age group is teens, however. I love them!!! Oddly, I even like normal teens! LOL! Now...give me a " normal " kindergartner and I freak!!!!!! No joke! I have friends and relatives that have always taught the little ones and I can't understand how the do it. Then they look at me and think I'm from another planet! LOL. Give me 110 teens and I'm in glory! Good thing we're all so different!! Although I usually taught in the high schools the last school I was in was a middle school Autistic class that had a number of kids with Asperger's Syndrome as well. A rather large class-actually too large. That was the class I had-that finally did me in physically. I could no longer keep up and I ended up having to give it up after spending 6 straight weeks in bed mid-term. I was heartbroken. I LOVED being in the schools and loved being with the kids. I had been working, at some capacity, with special needs since I was in Elementary school myself. To me there was nothing better or more fulfilling. But, now I can no longer work-period. My hat is off to !!! Good for him!!!!!!! , you are awesome!!!!!! My son, by the way, is in architecture. Love you guys! ~Jennie **************Start the year off right.
