RE: auth approved for cardiac cath

I've had the same procedure and it revealed that I have restrctive

cardiomyopathy which means my heart is shrinkink and not healthy enough to have

any type procedure. That was 4

years ago and the Dr. didn't expect me to be alive today BUTT hey what does he

know anyhow! lol. At the time the ejection fraction was 30%. The cardiologist

hoped to get

the ejection fraction up to 50%. Shortness of breath,fatigue and tender liver

are the only symtoms I notice. I need to follow up w/Cardio. Dr.

You have other complications that I'm sure you might tend to worry over. I will

keep you in my thoughts and prayers if that's alright w/You.

Just got off the phone with my health insurance company. Cardiologist's request

for a cardiac cath approved, so waiting to be scheduled. This is not what I want

to be doing right now, but if I've got clogged arteries, it's what needs to be

done. Lots of living ahead, kids and grandkids to spend time with, and a DH who

depends on me for half this partnership in life. Guess I'm a tad nervous about

the whole thing, as heart disease runs heavily on both sides of my family at

very young ages. My middle son has already had a 'silent' heart attack, though

it might be attributable to his weakened condition (disabled from a near-fatal

trucking accident), and meds he was on. But I'm high risk, with my lung disease

and way too many pounds from prednisone, among other things, and also

obstructive sleep apnea. Looks like I'll be taking my pap machine to the

hospital with me...have to find out how to get clearance on that one. Doc

advised me to plan to stay overnight, as he figures he's going to be cleaning

out arteries and possibly putting in stent(s?).Oh well, looks like I'll get some

real good sleep while I'm there, lololol.girlsaylor
