Guest guest
Thanks, Jennie & Debra. I do drink a lot of water, so I think the hydration isn't a problem. My doctor has advised for me to take up to 800mgs. of ibuprofen every 4 hours for the pain. I do take the IB, but I can't take it on an empty stomach (it makes my stomach cramp)and eating every four hours is a bit of a problem. I get easily nauseated, and when the pain gets really bad I actually vomit, which does no good! Anyhow, I take the IB when I eat. Sometimes, though, I don't even feel like eating so I wind up sipping on herbal tea and choking down saltines. I guess the nausea thing is a whole other complication in and of itself. I'm just a mess! Thanks so much for your input! Love from Mardi
Guest guest
Glucosamine/condroitin with msm is helpful for that as well. deb is right. anti-immfammatories help that type of pain if you can take them. I am allergic unfortunately. debra van ness wrote: Mardi, if you believe it is actual bone pain.... the only thing that helps that is Ibuprofen. I know this only because I use to be a hospice nurse and that is what I was taught. Patients who had cancer which spread to the bones were told that Ibuprofen was the only thing that helps with that. I really don't know why. You might try it. hugs, Debra V. Mardi wrote: My sister and I both have FMS, though she was diagnosed six years ago. Since it turned cold & rainy here in SC I have noticed my bones aching unmercifully! She says it happens to her, but so rarely it doesn't phase her. This has been an on-going problem for me for years (apparently I've had FMS for ages & looking over the " early onset " posts maybe even since childhood!) and I have yet to find ANYthing to really relieve the pain. I'm on Cymbalta which eases the daily aches & even helps me sleep. However, when I get stressed or the weather changes the FMS flares & I just can't manage the pains. It's not really joint or muscular, but the actual bones. Any suggestions? Thanks, y'all! Love from Mardi --------------------------------- Looking for last minute shopping deals?
