Guest guest
(((Hugs))) no apologies necessary! We've all had plenty of bad experiences with docs and chiros, etc. I had a few bad experiences myself with chiros but I just kept on looking and I'm so glad I didn't give up. It's like a miracle drug for me, and if I don't get my 'therapy' which to me is as necessary as food and water for my body, then I suffer. Same thing with medical doctors, I did stop going for a very long time because I hated them and gave up on them after too many bad experiences. I just assumed all medical docs were bad and just gave up all together. But finally found one I like, two years ago. You just have to find the one who is just right for you. Not every chiro is going to be as fabulous as mine. I wish I could share him with you all, he has done wonders for my body and level of pain. Plus when my sinuses are clogged he'll try to stimulate them and get them 'draining.' He truly has the healing touch. My brother lives in chronic neck and back pain with chronic migraines. He went to a chiro once and said it made him worse. Well of course it made him feel worse, it takes several adjustments to even start to feel better. I think with a lot of the more natural treatments like chiro treatments, you do feel worse before you feel better. Because our bodies have all these toxins that get released during an adjustment. It just takes time. I had to keep going to my chiro for nearly a year before I finally started to feel better, but that is because I hadn't gone in over six months without it, so my spine and neck were all out of whack. If you all could see my posture and how I sit at my computer wrong, hunched over like, it would explain why I need to go pretty regularly. I don't hold my head right, and that makes my alignment off. The doc sets me right again, but then I go home and sit at my computer wrong. So it explains why the body wants to be set right again and again. It's like taking a daily, or weekly, medication. You don't take one pill and then you're cured. You sometimes require a pill daily (like my aciphex for the GERD) in order to get results and stay feeling better. It's an ongoing thing. It's the same thing with chiropractic adjustments. I used to think I would go in, be adjusted and then be miraculously healed. It doesn't work that way. They help maintain a healthy body structure so that everything else will run more smoothly. But the way we treat our bodies today in how we sit or lack of exercise, the foods we eat (I'm guilty) takes its toll on the structure and spine. Plus the build up of toxins. It releases toxins when I get an adjustment. Love that feeling! debra van ness wrote: > I just wanted to say that I realize I should not have thrown all chiropractors into the same category. I know there are good ones out there. That was a little stereotypical for me to say that. It is just that I had a bad experience with one years ago. I am quite sure that some of them are very good doctors. > > Just an appology, > love and hugs to ya all > Debra V. >
