Guest guest
First of all, I want to join in A Big Welcome to this group! It's interesting at times and also very helpful and supportive! , did you put another nail in your coffin??? I was talking to a friend earlier about a reaction I had while we were in Illinois over the holidays. I had decided it was time to give Chantix a try. Fine the first 3 days but when I got past the 4th day -- the one where you start taking one in the am and add a second in the pm, Well, I could not even leave the bathroom, let alone the room! So I quit taking those but the effects (not the adverse) remained for awhile and I might have been able to stand a non-smoking room for a few days. Earlier this week I called Pfizer and talked to several people, as the reaction I had was not mentioned in the literature. The scientist in the study group checked the adverse reactions and my only showed up in 1% of the ones who were in the studies. I started back on the yesterday, I am hoping they will working and that I will not find myself saying to a great-niece in a few years " Jessie, go get me some cancer sticks so I can put a few more nails in my coffin! " That's what my great Uncle Oliver used to say to my mother back in the late 1930's -- the few pictures I have of him always show him with one in his hand, same for at least one of his sons! And the one son also told me that since we are of Scotch Irish descent, all the men in the family did at least one time drink! Glad to see you have rejoined us! That motorcycle accident does not sound exciting! Reminds me of the one one of my sister's was in --- that really got her in hot water as she and boyfriend were both injured and our father had told her when we were home for Christmas break from college, if he found out she was still seeing that guy, he would jerk her out of college so fast her head would spin! So, it took her 2 years before she would venture a way from home! But my failure to reveal her actions got me disowned! But during the last year of his life, we finally mended fences -- despite the fact that he had had a stroke that left him with little or no ability to speak --- I think he forgot alot of the past!!! And I also want to thank you because your post gave me one of the best laughs I have had today! > > > I'm out of the clam or out from underneath the rock.
