Guest guest
Hi, everyone, I've been on minocycline since November of 1998. The first few years I did the MWF schedule and then a couple years ago I switched to 2 a day at my Kaiser HMO doctor's suggestion. That is the doseage all of the double-blind studies used. I've done better on that regime than on the lower dose. My Kaiser doctor let me " try " antibiotics and was suprised when I came back a year later with no progression of my disease. After that he became less skeptical and of course there were further medical studies since then. He told me last year that minocycline is the first medication he tries with patients now. I have found him to be kind and helpful. He seems genuinely happy with my progress and I am delighted too. A year after I started the antibiotics, instead of going the immune suppressant route with DMARDS, I was found to have endomitriol cancer. I am grateful to God that I learned about minocycline and had worked to make myself healthier. If my immune system been suppressed I probably wouldn't have survived the cancer. I have lost friends whose immune systems were compromised by HIV. They tried everything available trying to get back their formerly healthy immune systems. I saw them suffer and finally die. I will not knowingly take any drug that will jeoprodize my immune system. in Oregon
