He's almost 4 months old now...and today....for the first time.....I nursed him in the cradle (or maybe the cross cradle-whatever!) hold two times!!!!! It's a start! I think it was both of us who needed to " outgrow " the good old football hold. ~.

And were you more comfortable?? Tammy >> It was so neat!! It started when I was on the computer- sitting in the rocker (looking up diapering info!!) and he was hungry, and I was too lazy to go to the couch...I just put him so that he was laying across my legs, lifted the shirt, and he latched himself on. He nursed himself right to sleep! The second time was on the couch and I was like " let's try this again... " He latched on without any fuss! It was much more comfy---I could do it hands free, which is nice because he's been nursing so long that my arms fall asleep in the football hold. I think this will be good for BFIPing! Keep your fingers crossed that it'll keep! ~ BTW: will your walk be rescheduled? or is it cancelled for good? As much as we needed the rain, it's a bummer that it had to mess up the walk! You knew you weren't going to last if you couldn't nurse discreetly in public, and Holden finally heard you! I once read a book that was explaining various nursing holds, and there was a comment that eventually babies learn to nurse efficiently, despite our poor positioning. I thought that was cute.
