Guest guest
Well, na!! I hate it that you are feeling so bad!! I think I have ALL that you listed as far as tumors go, but my NS said that my leg soreness was due to a cluster of tumors on my spine, about my lumbar region. I had leg soreness so bad that I could barely stand up for any length of time or go shopping or anything, and my neuro put me on Celebrex and that is what has stopped this. About the heart palps, well I have a heart murmur so a flutter now and then is normal. :o/ I am like you with the no energy though, since my bad case of jet lag I have not been able to do ANYTHING without it exhausting me. ( I wish you luck in finding out what is causing your problems and hope you get to feeling better SOON!! Donna Hi all. I've been off the Crew for a while. My job has gotten increasingly busy. I wanted to post to see if any of you who have a c-spinal tumor on brainstem or just below and/or a.n.s or regrowths that have experienced heart palpatations or leg stiffness/soreness? A few days after we got back from Oz, I started having heart palps and thought it was because I was taking a water pill for retention. I quit the pill (4 days into it) and figured it would take a while for the pill to get out of my system. Well, its 2 months later and I am still having heart palps and some days they are stronger than others. I worried that 1) DVT is involved or 2) that the acoustic neuroma that is pressing against my brainstem is causing it. This morning I felt like I was either going to pass out or hurl in the shower, so I called Brad and asked him to call the gen practioner and make an appt for a physical. The symptoms I'm having are: heart palps more than usual stiffness/soreness in my legs waves of nausea or feeling like I'm gonna faint general feeling bad, no energy Any ideas guys? na

Guest guest
WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY HEART PALPS? YOU FEEL YOUR HEART IS BEATING OR FLUTTERING FAST? (cap lock, sorry) Everytime I have a symtoms or two all my doctor can do is look at mri and say " theres no change " grin and bear it, so going to a GP might be a very idea. Redundant to say but I do hope this passes soon, hate to feel like crud. Also, dont know how much water you drink a day but staying veryy hydrated can help some. I TRY to drink 64 oz of water a day, we have a watercooler so its not hard. I was getting these weird spasms in my left arm (in last 6 months), arm would totally start shaking like a seizure and oddly every time that happened my gut would feel instantly bloated and dare I say gassy pain, Id drink a glass of water and it immediately stopped. not making this up, has happened probably 10 times and drinkng water stops it everytime, i cant explain it. happened once in a dentist chair, felt my arm start spazzing, mouth got dry, gut bloated, trying to hide it i asked for a cup of water and it instantly went away. almost afraid to tell neuro bc it sounds so looney. let us know what your dr says. Guest guest
Subject: Heart Palps - C Spinal Tumor Taking a deep breath here..... na, I don't really know what to say, where to start, I AM and have had leg stiffness and soreness the while and it has been worse since the OZ trip. It was puzzeling....I had none of that with the DVT, but like you, I had the leg swelling, mine lasted a few days. The nausea I sometime have had also tightness or some pressure in the area of the surgery site( just above medullary to just below the C1 at the back of my head), and sort of a , not dizzy but ummmmm wave of vertigo????, not really sure what to call it, for brief periods of time and frequently through the day, gosh its hard to describe it......I have had a feeling, very brief, of passing/blanking out, not often, but occasionally. I have definitely been feeling very low on energy the past month or a little longer, I am always very tired and awaken a few hours after having been asleep. I have not been able to sleep straight thru the night. The DVT results were the " lump " breaking down into several small ones over the period of a week. This was following contact walking, movement, wearing support hose, drinking a lot of water... I had ultrasounds daily, and they showed it breaking down....testing stopped at the end of the week. As to palpataions....I'm really lost there, we never got an answer as to how I was doing.... but I find at times it seems I breathe too quickly, and I take deep breaths trying to slow it down. Drs here know nothing about NF2 and I'm guilty of trying to avoid them, I don't get answers and those I do get are guesstimates at best. We can do as well guessimating or better. I also find I have at times had fluid draining from my nose if I have my head tilted for short periods of time. This something totally new to me. I just read Donna's reply and I also have some tumors in the Lumbar area that we are watching...so wonder if her thoughts in this respect might be whats taking place. Hope you are feeling better soon too! Sheryn _________________________ > Hi all. I've been off the Crew for a while. My job has gotten > increasingly busy. Guest guest
Marie; I was told by my ENT nasal discharge (post nasal drip) is common among NF-2ers. Something about one of the branches of the facial nerve I guess. I suppose SFL would manifest itself in more ugly ways, eg, headache(severe) and hydroencephalitis. I don' think what you describe about youself is so minor, being very real for you. LOL! Russ Marie Drew wrote: Oh crap! Guest guest
well I guess it depends on what you are talking about; when I get hot, my nose runs like a faucet; I carry a small hand towel, a tissue or handkerchief is useless. If this is the kind of "drip" you are talking about, yes it is fairly common. I was thinking of the kind where when you put your head forward, there is a drip out of your nose? I don't think that is so common, am I wrong? marie Heart Palps - C Spinal Tumor>> Taking a deep breath here..... na, I don't really know what to say,> where to start, I AM and have had leg stiffness and soreness the while and> it has been worse since the OZ trip. I hate that you have the vertigo and essential tremors, but you crack me up when you said " they asked me how I liked the view... like I could look! " Do you know what causes the essential tremors? Guest guest
The only way to cure this na is to come back to OZ.... .... Heart Palps - C Spinal Tumor Hi all. The symptoms I'm having are:heart palpsmore than usual stiffness/soreness in my legswaves of nausea or feeling like I'm gonna faintgeneral feeling bad, no energyAny ideas guys? na
Guest guest
Sheryn, You will have to come back to OZ with na, I could put the two of you in the "Shed" )))))) my dogbox. Bri..... Heart Palps - C Spinal TumorTaking a deep breath here..... na, I don't really know what to say, where to start, I AM and have had leg stiffness and soreness the while andit has been worse since the OZ trip. It was puzzeling....I had none of thatwith the DVT, but like you, I had the leg swelling, mine lasted a few days.Thenausea I sometime have had also tightness or some pressure in the areaof the surgery site( just above medullary to just below the C1 at the backof my head), and sort of a , not dizzy but ummmmm wave of vertigo????, notreally sure what to call it, for brief periods of time and frequentlythrough the day, gosh its hard to describe it......I have had a feeling, very brief, of passing/blanking out, not often, but occasionally. I havedefinitely been feeling very low on energy the past month or a littlelonger, I am always very tired and awaken a few hours after having beenasleep. I have not been able to sleep straight thru the night. The DVTresults were the "lump" breaking down into several small ones over theperiod of a week. This was following contact walking, movement, wearingsupport hose, drinking a lot of water... I had ultrasounds daily, and theyshowed it breaking down....testing stopped at the end of the week. As topalpataions....I'm really lost there, we never got an answer as to how I wasdoing.... but I find at times it seems I breathe too quickly, and I takedeep breaths trying to slow it down. Drs here know nothing about NF2 and I'mguilty of trying to avoid them, I don't get answers and those I do get areguesstimates at best. We can do as well guessimating or better. I also findI have at times had fluid draining from my nose if I have my head tilted forshort periods of time. This something totally new to me. I just read Donna'sreply and I also have some tumors in the Lumbar area that we arewatching...so wonder if her thoughts in this respect might be whats takingplace. Guest guest
You know that is funny; years ago, I went to Hawaii with a friend; she said her idea of vacation is laying on the beach reading a novel; well I had her take a helicopter tour of an island, do the Hana highway, and yes, we went snorkeling, and I even got her to go off a slide into the ocean. She still talks about it!! LOL Marie Heart Palps - C Spinal Tumor > > > > > > Taking a deep breath here..... na, I don't really know what to say, > > > where to start, I AM and have had leg stiffness and soreness the while > and > > > it has been worse since the OZ trip. Guest guest
I know, I have been hoping for that! My Dad had them at one time, but he does not have them now; I have no clue what causes them, and the docs didn't seem to either; I got the usual stuff about " well you have so much nerve damage " ; she gave me meds, but after a while I quit taking them.
