Jim, I read this to Don because it was so funny. We we got married in 1969, he took me for the first time to Florida. I had never seen an orange grove and was facinated. In those days they had little stands along side of the road with free glasses of fresh squeezed organge juice. Oh man is was fantastic. Orange juice like you wouldn't believe. We stopped everytime there was a stand. I couldn't get enough of it. Needless to say I spent the 3rd day of our honeymoon in the motel room sitting on the toilet. We still chuckle about it. K Illinoisjames wallman wrote: Sher.......thanx for asking. I'm doing well. As of Dec no recurrance of cancer... that's since Nov 04. As to hearing from me.........I could yammer on about various excuses, but I think my best friend, who happens to be an Aussie, says it best. He attributes it to me being a "slack bastard"..........actually I just got my annual email from him this past weekend in which he admitted to being the same. Guess that is why we are so well suited. Another excuse..........I retired on Feb 15...and since then I just haven't had time.....weird how that works. When you write "Oregon", I immediately think..... it's approximately 6 or 7 weeks until

strawberry season. I don't miss many things from the Northwest, but summer produce is one and strawberries are at the top of the list. We get berries here from California......sorry all you Californians. They are mostly red, they are shaped like strawberries, sometimes even smell like strawberries. but they ain't strawberries. They are a product, grown in fields on what looks like strawberry plants, that are genetically engineered to be shipped to Bum-phooey, Alaska and arrive lookin' good. Taste like funny shaped, red golf balls. Okay.....that's my strawberry rant, except to say.........years ago I took the whole family (wife, daughter and 4 step sons) to Vancouver, Wa at the peak of the season. None of them had ever been out of the State. I kept telling them they were in for a treat. Mostly, their responses were yawns.....I found a u-pick, and we drove to it in the rental car. Once they got a taste they were out in the field with

those awful plastic grocery bags. There was a faucet to wash them.... we stood by the car, I'll bet we ate 20 pounds. They couldn't believe the taste. We ate enough that our collective digestive systems went into full rebellion. Oh........it was heavenly!! Okay, now I'm done. Actually, I have some questions about sat levels during sleep, but I'll come back to that later. Now, after re-reading this I'm wondering if I haven't done this rant previously (about the berries)......ah.....a mind is a terrible thing to lose. Oh well....you know what they say about Alzheimer's......I forgot....lest anyone think I make fun of the illness know this, my grandfather and father died from Alzheimer's. jim IPF 05 alaska Sher Bauman <bofuswbcable (DOT) net> wrote: AJ....oh how I agree! My experience w/RTs have all been positive. I had one last time that spent hours on her own time trying to research why my heart acted up on the treadmill but yet no heart problems per se. I'm glad your experience was positive too. To bad we can't see just them! How are you feeling? Is the cancer still hiding it's face? We don't

hear much from you and I love your posts... A warm hug from Oregon to your Alaska! Mama-Sher, age 69.IPF 3/06, NSIP 4/08 OR. Don't fret about tomorrow, God is already there! $.02 worth Once again I've been reading about dead beat doctors who, for whatever reasons, aren't meeting the needs of folks on the Board here. First, I have to say that there are genuine healers out there that are, unfortunately in my opinion, in the minority. In my case, in my pre- IPF days I had 2 oncologists. One of them I still see every 3-6 months. First he wants a CT scan to check that the cancer has not returned. After that the time is mine and much of it is spent discussing my lungs. He is damn busy, but he makes time to "treat" me. He has even researched pulmo questions to help me find answers. Anyway, that's not why I'm writing........I'm writing about Respiratory Therapists. I've only had contact with 2 so my experience is limited, but both are EXCELLENT sources of information, One does my periodic PFT, and the other runs the small company that rents me all my O2 equipment. This guy is available 24/7. I'm not able to do pulmo

rehab because I choose to live 350 miles from Anchorage so this guy makes himself available by phone. I'm making this way too long and drawn out. In my experience, both of these RTs provide me with as much or more info than any MD. Like anything else, there are bound to be duds, but I've had great experience with them. jim IPF 05 alaska Be a better friend, newshound, and know-it-all with Yahoo! Mobile. Try it now.
