How do you stop?

I'm still pretty new to IE (about 6 months). I am in the middle of a binge

today. I started out with just " over-eating " and it snowballed into what i

would consider a binge. I had some reasons that I felt justified it - boredom,

frustration, anger, loneliness, etc. I am working on being tender and loving

towards myself - not trashing myself for overeating or punishing myself by

jumping on my treadmill.

I am sitting on my couch and wondering how do I break this cycle. How do I stop

this binge that could extend out several days? I had some stress yesterday and

i did some yoga and took a bubble bath. Today I couldn't think of anything that

was as good as food.

I am asking for suggestions - what do you do when you feel the urge to binge -

what do you do to stop when you are overeating/bingeing? Any suggestions would

be awesome.

Hey ,

As for being boring. Maybe you may want to try various different hobbies that

you have not tried before. To see if you are enjoy them or not. Try something

new and different than usual. Sometimes it help to lessen boredom. For myself

like to go outside for a walking to go somewhere then back. Reading books

(romance, horror, sci-fi, fantasy, occults, and many more), meditation, or watch

movies even. If there someone that you know would not be too busy then you can

maybe set up to have a chat and go out have fun. Such as that. There are many

ways for you to try out.

Things I might do:SLEEP -- fatigue is the biggest trigger for meexercise -- in a way that doesn't feel punitive, but just to cheer me upget out of the house, see a friend, do things that nourish me emotionally

write to this group!read the IE book or others having to do with emotional eatingeat mindfully -- whatever you want, and as much as you want, but paying attention to the tastes and textures of the food

be really nurturing and forgiving of myself -- talk to myself as if someone else was having this problem -- what would i say to them?
