Joyce, Dear,

What a nightmare you've endured. It shouldn't happen

to an animal, much less our Queen. And since when,

I'd like to ask Dr. Slug, has anyone been asked to have

a lung transplant without anesthesia!?!? I'm with AJ -

I'll chip in for Vinnie and Guido. I hope you'll get some

decent rest and good food now that you're home. I'm

so happy with the Flolan results and that the other 2

crappy procedures are behind you. Big hugs to you!

Hi Gang,

Today was my 2nd Clinic day. PFTs, x-ray, and labs

were all good and I was oxygenating at 99%. They

lowered my Prednisone 5 mg. again. I had to

stay for three hours for an IV drip of a med called

Cytogam, but there were two other people in the

infusion room with me (and ). The docs

said it looked like we were having a party, with our

recliners lined up in a row, box lunches delivered to

us, and watching a DVD. Ha. We posted a picture to

my CaringBridge site of the three of us with Dr. Angel.

I love that man. He, to me, most of all seems to be the

driving passion behind the transplant team here.

There was a man and a woman sitting next to me, who

both received a lung from the same donor. The woman

also figured out that she was at the hospital waiting at

the same time I was! She was called in case the lung had

not turned out to be a good match for me, so she had

a " dry run " , bless her heart. Thank goodness she was

transplanted 4 days later. We had a nice visit.

This afternoon for my 2nd walk I walked for 20 minutes.

It's almost like an out of body experience watching

myself walk without supplemental oxygen. I get less

dizzy and winded than I did at first - I'm getting

stronger. It's pretty muggy here, which doesn't help a

whole lot.

Thursday (3 weeks out) I start rehab - it'll take about

2 hours and I'll see both a p.t. and a respiratory therapist.

They want to take some before and after photos of me for

a project they're doing for post-transplant patients.

Mama Sher, Good for you for moving it around some more!

It definitely ought to help your attitude and inspire to

keep going once you get started. It's great to feel like you

have had a productive day, especially since your activities

are necessarily curtailed in some ways. Keep it up!!! I hope

you have worked yourself a bit out of the doldrums, but

they hit us all at one time or another. The trick is not to

stay stuck.

Tina, Lovely wedding pictures. I just love to see a beautiful

bride and the joy on people's faces at weddings. Ditto

about the front of the dress, though. :-)

AJ,

I'm sooo glad your cancer has been silent since 2004. You

deserve to forget all about that chapter forevermore.

Hope you'll drop in more often.

Love the eagle story!!

Ze,

You're a wizard at the sewing machine! I'm stunned at

your talent and creativity. Lucky Lili!

GIO,

With a group of Prize Pursers such as this, I think a

pursed lip moment in time would be entirely fun and

appropriate.

Bruce,

Sending my condolences on the loss of your uncle.

Leanne,

You can post anything you want of me. I ain't proud (but

then I don't have any with my tongue stuck out). Ha!

Steve, You sound like such a big-hearted man. I always

look forward to your posts. It sounds like you really

love and respect your wife, which I have such respect for.

I hope the cruise will be worth the effort it takes to get

there! I'm pulling for you.

Hugs and blessings,

Gwynnie....Hi! I'm glad to see a post from you and you sound like everything is moving along just fine. How wonderful! What an inspiration you (and Joyce) are to our group.

Yes, I have been 'moving it' around more and of course do feel better as a result. Our home sure shows the results. Every closet and cupboard cleaned. I did a really thorough Spring cleaning except we still don't have Spring here! Today I can hear the wind whistling around the building and the wind chimes are each playing their own tune.

Keep on keepin' on dear friend!

Mama-Sher, age 69.IPF 3/06, NSIP 4/08 OR. Don't fret about tomorrow, God is already there!
