,

did this very same thing to me. He thought it was the funniest

thing, and apparently loved the reaction it got from me. :( He did it

more than once.

The next time I had him on my lap, I talked at length about " teeth " and

made sure that I touched his teeth with my finger when I said " teeth. " I

also made sure I had things handy that I wanted him to bite on, like food.

I bared my teeth to him frequently and said, " bite " while I showed him how

I bite. I would bite on a carrot, then ask him to bite on it. What a

great game, he thought. Then I offered to nurse him, and even though he

didn't bite, I took *that* opportunity to discourage that he does " NOT bite

-- NO teeth " on my nipple. He practiced putting his teeth against my

nipples and then would shake his head " no. " He fully understood. However,

he did bite me once or twice after this, sort of to test me to see if I

really meant " no. "

When I reinforced my " no " and ended that nursing session with more

discussion of " teeth " and " bite " the biting ended fairly quickly too. At

least it ended much quicker than I could have dried up (days vs. weeks). :)

Welcome Margot,

This is a great place for support of all kinds. Post often and be involved is my best advice. I look forward to getting to know you.

Zephyr

Hello!

Hello to all!

My name is Margot and I just joined your group April 24. I started being serious about losing weight on April 17 -- my weight was 258.5 (my heaviest) and I now weigh 249.7, but been having a hard time to lose more weight ever since. I hope to be 150 pounds someday.

Today is the start of our 9-day vacation and I'm scared I might gain weight --- hubby being around and all.

I don't know how to make a journal yet, but I have a weight journal. Will that do?

Thanks for the water reminder. I love water but always forget to drink.

Hi Jenn,

YES, I absolutely agree! I'm having a nice time here in Japan. Only, the land and of course the houses here are sooo expensive. :o( We've been saving since we got married but don't have yet the courage to buy our own place. I think it would be more affordable for us if we buy a condo in the future but my heart is set on a house...even a tiny one will do just as long I have a tiny garden as well. Oh well...

You're bedroom must look so nice and relaxing as well. Japanese-style room always makes me feel less tense, especially if the floor is made of tatami (Japanese straw mat used as a flooring). I like the feel and the smell of the tatami.

I have a questions if anybody care to answer. How much water should I drink to help me lose weight more? Is it based on my weight?

Thanks in advance!

Hi Margot,

WW wants you to drink 6 glasses of water a day, but I aim for 8. It is really important that you drink water each day for your weight loss. I know that when I drink less than 6, it really slows my weight loss down.

I agree with Maureen & I try to drink 1-2 glasses of water before each meal.

-- Re: Re: Hello!

I think the more water you are able to drink the better you lose. It helps wash out your system and also fills you up so you don't want to eat as much. Just my opinion though!

Hi Margot.

I read somewhere that you should drink half your body weight in ounces. For me, I'm at 199, so I try to drink 100 ounces per day. Every one is different though.

:)

Hey !

Tell your hubby congrats! Yeah, my mom put it that I had lost a 3rd

grader! LOL!!

You hang in there with the insurance! I hope that it gets approved

and that next year you will be on the Post-op train! I don't regret

it for a minute!

As far as my workout goes.. I work out at the Y in my town.. the

reason being is because I LOVE to swim and it really is so gentle on

the joints. I have been doing a Deep Water Aerobics class 2 times a

week.. and was doing the Ellipticals 1x a week.. and now I am adding

in 2 more elliptical days.. I enjoy the knowledge that the Y staff

has, and the fact that I can do so many different types of exercise

and not get bored.. a big problem for me..

And I am lucky too.. I have thick hair as well.. and it's really not

showing that it's thinning.. it's just that it feels thinner..

It could be worse!

I'm no expert on the lifestyle of an IE-er as I've only been doing it myself a little while.  But, I'd sure be available for you if you ever want to talk.  I'm a 49 year old mother of  22 year old and almost 17 year old daughters.  I went through a period with my cousin when she had an eating disorder (anorexia nervosa) and, of course, my compulsive overeating is an eating disorder.  So if you need a listening ear, I'm here for ya!

Blessings,

Sharon

Hello everyone! I am a 20 year old girl recovering from an eating disorder and have been trying to the intuitive eating approach for about 2 months now. I would love to find a support buddy to talk to and email and just help through the ups and downs of relearning how to eat like we were made to. Let me know if you would like to be that person and I would absolutely love to talk to you :)

Welcome and I think you will find that this entire group can be that 'buddy'

that you seek. You will find that you relate to some and not others, but that's

OK :) Plus a wider range of feedback offers you more options to chose from than

relying on a person or two.

Keep posting and do speak up on what your needs and concerns are.

Best to you, Katcha

IEing since March 2007
