Guest guest
Hi Sharon, Beth here again. Just wanted to put my 2 cents in here about getting medical care when you have no insurance. I am currently uninsured. I live in North Carolina and am waiting to be eligible for Medicare this coming November. I make "too much money" to be eligible for Medicaid in North Carolina. (Too much money is about $1150 a month in Social Security Disability) I get my medical care at Duke University Medical Center and at the Duke University Private Diagnositc Clinics. I am currently on a very low payment plan ($62.52 monthly) and much of my care is paid for by Duke's charity program. Many, many, many major university medical centers have these types of programs. You do have to seek these programs out, fill out forms and be persistant but they are there and they can help. Just wanted to put this info out there something to be aware of! Look after yourself!
