" Things they don't tell you: " Bag " surgery, AKA, colostomy, has a 50% mortality rate. Diet is a major issue in recurring bowel infections. University of Oregon's Linus ing Institute may be a better choice. There is almost nothing that is not better than a colostomy for your situation. Save the colostomy for people who get cancer or loose their bowels to traumatic injuries. Geoff Acts 2:
Guest guest
Thanks all, I have been investigating food allergies. Sorry should have explained! Well I had Ulecrative Colitis at 19 and have already had the colon removed and reattached the small bowel at 26 which now gets infected due to a bacterial overgrowth, as the surgery is not ideal about 50 % of people that have the surgery get the infection - " pouchitis " So I just turned 32 and I have been taking various antibiotics and strong doses of quinolones when the joint issues started. So now taking tetracycline every 3rd day and salazopyrin 4 per day. Doing ok! Cutting out Gluten and wheat for now. Seems to be helping. The Drs said if I go back to the bag then the bowel infection would be no longer, but I wonder if it would help the arthritis as well ? I am planning a wedding and babies, so more surgery is not something I want! rheumatic Re: Bowel Bag Discussion on the use of long term low dosage of antibiotics for the treatment of auto-immune diseases such as Scleroderma, LupHi Tamara! Guest guest
Hi Tamara! Geoff here, again. It could be very worth your investment to go through Dr. Mercola's online evaluation for metabolic typing. Also, it's sort of surprising that your Dr.'s didn't tell you to avoid _all_ grains, which to me seems a near impossibility but I know, in reality, it can be done. Mercola's site is messy and hard to get around, but you can find the metabolic typing info if you browse it. www.mercola.com. Is remission classifyed as no swelling (just left with big ugly bony knuckles) feel best in mornings and hands start hurting after using them too much? And blood tests are normal. Any advise would be great thank you.. Also - I know how you feel re the horses, I used to have one and always wanted to get another! Lucky perhaps as my boyf is allergic to them! rheumatic Re: Bowel Bag Hi Tamara! Geoff here, again. Guest guest
Hi, Are you taking any probiotics? If not, get started. The antibiotics kill off all bacteria, good and bad. You need to replenish them. Try several different brands. The more cells the better. Carol_DM

Guest guest
Hi Bonnie; Have they checked for Sarcoidosis? It often affects the lungs but is very difficult to diagnose.Could she just have something as simple as an allergy to something she is breathing?
