Guest guest
, Congratulations! I hope you'll get the call very soon, and that you'll get the chance to be a part of one of the miracles of modern medicine. Babs, I'm so sorry that h is ill, and that you will have to miss out on San . I totally understand, just please take every precaution for yourself. I hope your baby will avoid full-blown pneumonia, and that she will be on the mend soon. Gang, Today we did new tricks at rehab, including some electric stimulation for my shoulder. Whatever position they had to put my left arm in for the transplant surgery, made the muscles in that shoulder very sore. We did different exercises, 15 minutes on the recumbent bike (during which I oxygenated at 96%), and some pushes on the leg press with arm thera- bands. The p.t. warned me that I might have more pain tonight than usual, and he was NOT kidding. I was so proud that I hadn't taken a pain pill since before clinic yesterday, but I had to take one tonight- ouch! I have to remember that it's a process, that my body has been very inactive for four years, and that I had a thoracotomy one month ago this Thursday. Peggy, I am sure your nephew was thrilled to see you. I am quite disappointed about not getting to meet up with the group when you're all here, but I hope to be able to at least have a quick cell phone hello with y'all . It doesn't seem fair since I'm in San , but given the events in my life recently, I can hardly complain about anything! Kate and had a major stroke of luck yesterday. The place that was their hearts' desire for where to get married in Austin turned out to have an unexpected opening for September 6th. gulp. You can see online this incredible, Tuscan villa-looking place in the hill country. It's called Villa Antonia. I'm so thrilled for them, although it sounds like someone's engagement may have fallen through, which is a shame. Sooo, that's one BIG thing we can mark off the list. Kate's ring is an heirloom - it's really lovely and was Chris's grandmother's. She and I will be able to shop for a dress in Dallas after I get home. She's already got a fairly clear idea of what she wants in her head. They're going to shop for invitations Friday, and we'll use the same florist we used for and Brittany's wedding in Austin 2 years ago. This all feels so normal, and nothing has felt at all normal in my life for a long time. Hugs and blessings, Gwynnie 57 Single-Lung Transplant on 4-3-08 at UTHSC San , TX
