Guest guest
The CBC is for counting white blood cells, red blood cells, and platelets. The tests to check for RA, Osteoarthritis, Lupus and others is the ANA (antinuclear antibody). Problem with this test is someone can have Lupus and not have it show up on the test results for years. There is a newer test for Lupus as well as RA that I'm going to try and get my rheumatologist to do for me once I find out the codes for them to see if my insurance covers it. I will go to the newseletter from about.com for arthritis in a little while to get the exact name of the Lupus test. The one for RA is called the Anti-CCP.
