,

I'm so glad you have finally found the right doctor and you have my

prayers that you will now get the care you deserve, the best. Your story

is so sad and I hate to see doctors who misdiagnose or ignore medical

evidence. I also work for a medical facility, though I work on the

administrative end, it still makes me upset to see this happening to

anyone.

I'm glad you have found us though. This group is wonderful.

I had my 1st attack with acute pancreatitis in May of 1998 and am now

on disability. One time my pancreas hemorrhaged which caused me to

develop ARDS (Adult Respiratory Distress Syndrome). As a result, my

lungs collapsed, and I was on a ventilator (life support system) for

14 days. I was later told it was a miracle I lived. My oxygen

saturation had dropped to 35%.

It's rough not being able to work. I worked for 18 straight years

(10 as a deputy sheriff in Tampa, Florida, and 8 as a probation

officer in Safford, Arizona where I still live to this day). The

proverbial last straw occurred last October 2000 when I was in the

hospital with another acute attack of pancreatitis. I quit breathing

and had to be revived via CPR. Been on disability since May 2001. Oh

yea, I also have Hashimoto's Thyroid disease, Barrett's Esophagus, a

hiatal hernia and hypertriglyceridemia, which is what triggered my

chronic pancreatitis.

It's been a rough last 4 years. In 97, my 8 year old daughter

passed away when she was run over and killed by a pick-up

truck when she tried to cross the street. In 99, I was on life

support for 14 days. In 01, I went on disability in May, and last

month I found out my wife is pregnant with another man's baby. She's

living with him now. My 13 year old son, Clint, lives with me.

Now yall know my story. If I can be of any help to anyone, please

let me know! Chris.
